Can u keep stock gearbox and tie rods etc? That would be easierfr me to do to layout my front end. Im following this one. How low does it lay out when completely airred out?

I sectioned the x-member to raise it plus i moved it forward 1.25''. I could not keep the stock gearbox and tie rods, but i think it was due to moving it forword. This was no problem because i wanted to use a rack kit. If you want to use the stock steering parts and lay frame just Z your frame.

Thanks. They came out pretty slick for use a brush to paint them. The paint it very thick and it looks like a color/clear all in one. Im happy with it. It will do until the trucks back on the road and i need to upgrade to a wilwood brake kit with 14''rotors and 4 piston calipers. You know!!

Thanks, Im running a McGaughy's big brake kit with their drop spindles and hubs. I had to shave 1/8 off the spindle studs and smash the dust caps in. Now the front wheels and caps fit without a problem.

Re: I think i can!!! - SWB 72 Step-side

Not too much to report. This summer has been super busy with work, rentals, birthday parties, bachelor parties, weddings and life. The last few weeks I got a little work done, not too much though. I ran some electrical air lines and started installing my EFI system. Here are a couple of pictures. I hope the rest the of you guys have been getting more work done that me. I plan to start spending a little more time with it plus the guy doing my body work got a new job and hasn't touch the cab in 2 months. Now I am looking for a new guy. I have someone coming by this week to give me a price. i hope he takes the job. I will post some better pictures this weekend.

Re: I think i can!!! - SWB 72 Step-side

Just checking in so not much to update. We are moving across town to a house with more room to grow. My truck is spread over 3 different places. I can not wait to finish moving. Summer is just about over and it's starting to cool off. Time to do work...

Wow! That is all I can say. I just read through it all, good looking truck. How hard is shaving the drip rails? Are you flush mounting the windshield? You said the seats are out of a 94 Burb, is that true for the center console as well? Thanks, and keep it up!

Re: I think i can!!! - SWB 72 Step-side

Beetle,

Sorry for the delay. The drip rails where a LOT of work, more than I thought but I had some good help! I'm not going to flush mount the windshield only because I donot have the time to rework it. Yes the center console is out of a 94 burb but I'm not sure I'm going to reuse it. What you think? I'm thinking I will try something a little more square.
