Re: 1959 Fleetside REBORN

Out in the garage for a while and this happens. Its a rust spot in a re-accruing place. Well, went to finish the boxing plates and forgot to mockup the brakes so I'm not done with that but here is what I came up with for the brakes. need to have it done by tomorrow. We're suppose to place the fuel tank and run lines, Place to air ride stuff and run lines, and plumb the brakes. So we can have the engine, trans and rearend back in end of sunday, so we could recab the frame monday.

How come you're mounting your master on the outside of your frame?

Re: 1959 Fleetside REBORN

And backwards, but it looks like that bar with the bearing is going to be a pivot from the original via the long rod??? tube x brace takes up the space where the mc and booster would be on an undercab conversion.

Re: 1959 Fleetside REBORN

Well first, the 6 speed automatic is MASSIVE, compared to turbo350. Plus the hydro-boost is longer then vacuum booster, and it would have put the master cylinder tank under the seat. One of the reasons why I wanted to use all late model stock parts, I want to be able to go to any GM dealer and say fix it, when on a road trip. And not worry about custom parts. The only custom part is the drivers side axle and I'm having that made to stand a 1000hp. so my 400+hp motor should not break that. Plus automatics are a soft start compared to a stick instant impact.

That makes sense. I figured the flat stock was the pivot.

Re: 1959 Fleetside REBORN

Well I needed to clean up my desk, so I sat in the ac cleaning my desk. I have this stack of receipt in the corner. I totaled them up to $16165, This is the total for all the parts bought since 2008 when I bought the truck. It all adds up in the end. I only had 4 big paydays, 1. the truck it self, 2. the engine and trans. 3. the denali bucket seats with heat and message. 4. rims and tires. IT ALL ADDS UP!

While you're doing the accounting, remember that you'll be able to sell a whole lot of original parts. It may not add up to much, but it will take some of the sting out of your accounts payable (paid).

Advice. Stop that right now. Dont add up anything. It will mess u up. You will end up saying "Should have bought a few year old mustang and been done with it."

Re: 1959 Fleetside REBORN

Well the rear suspension is mounted up. I'm missing 2 front bolts so we welded it to the frame, till they come. It's time to get this thing running. Hope to have it plumbed(brakes, fuel and air) by sunday. With the drive shaft loops as well.
