Haha well I wouldn't call you out on any of your mistakes because so many do things so differently. But I do see a few things I would have done different!

Re: Rusbuilt's 68 C-10
Ok ok the windows are bad, but I would have also attached a top plate to the roof line and one to the floor on your door wall. Then I would have measured my studs individually so they would be continuous and you wouldn't have to have little pieces about your top plate you have now.. Looks great though for your first time! Its just some wood and nails, pretty easy to fix bro!! Keep up the good work.

Re: Rusbuilt's 68 C-10
I had the same issue last week with my spindles I got my CCP from truck and car shop and they came with the uppers then my buddy ordered me the lowers, from his supplier and got them pressed in and started to install and yup way to short. Had to run up to a parts store to get some replacements. It was a wonderful waste of a couple of hours. Thats what I got for not compairing them beside the old ones befor pressing them in.

Re: Rusbuilt's 68 C-10
I have a 72 and I went to advanced and bought a set of cheap ones for the 72 and they worked fine. The ones I ordered look just like the ones u have. I dont know why they were different, my buddy checked with his supplier and they were suppose to be the right ones. The ones from advanced worked fine think they were 23 a piece, more then needed to spend but needed then right then. Only problem I did have was the wrong ones when pressed in did stretch the whole just a hair, so the good ones were a hair to easy going in. I know its bad to do and wrong but we put a few spot welds on them. My truck is a long bed 6 cyl not race truck, so im fine with it.

Re: Rusbuilt's 68 C-10
Rus did you drop your top ball joint in and put the bolts in from the bottom? Or did you put the ball joint in from the bottom? can't tell by the pic.

Re: Rusbuilt's 68 C-10
Heres an example of the u joint I was telling you about. You would need to know the correct measurements of yours to get the right one though.

Re: Rusbuilt's 68 C-10
So I talked to Jeff at CPP and we figured out that the ball joints were packaged wrong (right number on the bag, wrong ball joint sealed in the bag). Jeff is rushing me the correct ones and he cut me a deal on a shock relocation kit for the rear...

Re: Rusbuilt's 68 C-10
+Rus the same thing happened to me on the kit I ordered from Classic Parts- right bag wrong ball joints. Ended up getting from a local supplier but Classic did credit me back the price of two ball joints.

Re: Rusbuilt's 68 C-10
Now I see what happens when you donīt check the board for over a month.
Had to read for a half an hour to see your progress. Great Job! I will try to check the forum more often. Donīt forget, family is always on top of the "to do" List.

Re: Rusbuilt's 68 C-10
Well some small progress. got the new (correct) lower ball joints in and got my hubs together. Then I find out that my sleeves to connect my inner and outer tie rods were the wrong ones and my brake hoses have to have reducers so they will work with my hard lines!!! Dang it cpp!
