Re: The Project Havoc....
Aight... im completly new to this site and this thread, great job on the truck by the way. i have a 72 lwb fleetside and i was browsing the internet, looking for any lwb to swb conversions, and then BAM i found you! i have a question when it comes to shorting the bed itself: there is a body line that is just below the top rail of the bed. this line runs down towards the rear of the truck. (in other words its not parallel with the top of the bed.) it seems to me if you cut and remove a total of 20" from the bed, that this body line would no longer line up. is this so? and what do ya do about it?

Re: The Project Havoc....
i knew it would be off just didnt know how much, it could very easily end up lookin like a zig zag. y couldnt u cut right at the front (and right at the rear) of the bed instead of making all the cuts toward the middle? seems like that would make the seam less notable. ? . ? ALSO when you go from lwb to swb, i know the drive shaft has to cut, but what would you do with the swing arms? i dont plan on doin all the fab work to the cross members and such as you did. do you move the cross member forward or shorten the swing arms?

Re: The Project Havoc....
well, the updates are as stands, i can finally lift 3lbs with my arm, whoo hoo. but i decided enuf was enuf, i phned my little cousin who is 14, and asked what he was doing for the summer vacation, he said nothin. So me being the smart one asked him if he wanted to help me around the house, he said SURE. well, that works for me, i went and picked him up this morning and he cleaned my garage and started on my truck today. So as of now i am shop foreman and he is my worker. btn me and him the truck will be running in a week or two now. yes, yes , yes, but there is always a catch, when he turns 16, he wants some favours for a car of his own. works for me. Later
