I don't know how you guys dig these up...? Must be the sig links. This one was way burried. It's third in line behind the Minx and the Tahoe (maybe a little shortening of the 64 too...). Thanks for the continued interest. Can't wait to see this one through.

Re: Updated Project Pics - '61 Vette Pick Up

If I start now on mine, I may be about done by the time Frizzle gets back on this one...

..then again I have to drive mine to work.

never mind.

This is one of the craziest projects I've ever heard tell of... but the ideas, thoughts and execution are so well done that it is really fun to follow along.

Truthfully, my knowledge and skills have come a long way since I put this one on hold. So theoretically the end product will benefit from the delay ...at least that's what I'm telling myself

Re: Updated Project Pics - '61 Vette Pick Up

I usually don't like the body mods that I see done to project trucks, but I for some reason can't get your styling out of my head. I was driving down the road the other day thinking of your truck and came to the realization that you are applying the ancient art of Feng Shui to your body mods. The elimination of sharp corners especially. Your mods are relaxing to the eye therefore relaxing to the soul. This project is important and should be continued. Have you moved the truck to another part of the garage other than where the original creativity was introduced? Possibly you have moved the project to an area of opposing Chi. LOL

Like a few others I'm tagging to find this later. Life has a way of getting in the way. I'm not worthy of commenting on your work, I love the concept...but...the beautiful shape of the fenders is conflicting with the flat shapeless tailgate, smooth it, tilt it, continue the fender lines thru the gate may pull it together. Just a few thoughts, good luck you do incredible work.

Only if you become idle as well. Improving your abilities during the interim results in better execution on the modifications/effort when the 'right' time does come along.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

no ill feelings intended. i'm speaking from experience. i have several projects of my own. and then i work on customers vehicles everyday. so when i get a chance to put some time in on one of mine this feeling of guilt takes control. and tells me it time to make money. something inflicted on me from my first wife. guilt. i guess i should seek help, lol

I hear ya. This project was actually locked down during a divorce so I had to find other creative outlets ...thus the birth of Tubby the 69 Tahoe. The Minx was purchased as a daily and it needed a new engine ... This 61 is and will always be my first love. Her day will come. As SCOTI said the execution will be that much better as a result of experience and tools acquired in the mean time.

But one rule I live by is that hobbies should never become a burden or be something to feel rushed or guilt over. Perhaps that's why none of my projects are done

Righteous words to live by, this is supposed to be fun...it appears your putting time into the Tahoe anyways, and it looks amazing. 3" of primer over the weld area, with plenty of original paint...awesome welding skill. Keep us posted

frizz i appreciate your words. and about being your first love i understand that too. especially in my younger days, i would tell any female they would go before i would get rid of my ride. at least i could walk away from it when i was pissed and it was still there when i came back. anyway i'll be looking forward to your future progress on this build
