Re: 60-66's in the movies
Theres a scene where Depp and his partner are argueing in a motel room. they exit the room and as there walking outside, crossing the parking lot,my old Sub(brown) is in the background. Not a very big or long scene, but When I get to watching that flick and get to that scene,It brings back alot of memories from that time I owned that ol' Sub >

Re: 60-66's in the movies
[QUOTE=markeb01;5396581]Stumbled upon some episodes of Adam-12, and about jumped out of my chair when they pulled up in front of the Universal Courthouse Square set, which is the subject of my primary diorama. This is what the building structures looked like in 1955-1957:
And here’s what the same buildings looked like in 1968. The fascias had changed but most of the structures remained intact: that is so cool. the building really is the same. i like the robot from "The Day The Earth Stood Still" one of my favorite si-fi movies. did you build the models or are they dicast?

Re: 60-66's in the movies
All of the buildings were built from scratch out of styrene strip and sheet plastic. The street lamps are Lionel with different globes. The only diecast model is the 32 Ford Graffiti coupe. I think Revell released it as a painted kit about 10-15 years ago. The 49 Ford, 36 Ford, and 1960 Valiant are original AMT/SMP kits from 1960-61. The El Camino is a modern plastic reproduction kit, the Mercury is an MPC kit from the early 70’s and the Ford woodie (far right) is a Revell kit from about 10 years ago. Everything in the photo is 1/25th scale. Gort is also solid metal, but in my warped thinking I don’t consider him a diecast because he wasn’t a kit, he’s a solid chunk.

There are a couple in "Kill the Irishman" A metallic blue one and a tan stepside (with the sink in it, and the head shot).

Re: 60-66's in the movies
Was sick over the weekend, so i cranked up Netflix and started watching cheesy movies. Ended up watching "The Stuff". Not exactly sure what year but the main characters ended up using a 64+ Chevy (blue i think) to follow the bad guys to a quarry. They got out some distance from where they bad guys stopped stating something along the lines of "we cant sneak up on them in this thing... it's too loud"

Re: 60-66's in the movies
a couple shots of the 4-5-6 wrecker in Texas Chainsaw Massacre- The Beginning:
and it was mentioned earlier in the thread with a picture, but the ending scene also shows a 60-61 short stepside...not sure if I'm allowed to post a video clip, because it's pretty graphic/gruesome

Re: 60-66's in the movies
^As far as what is appropriate ?...
This is a family site, so I would say PG is the very most. Possibly even G rating. If the scene would be considered Rated R, then I can guarantee you don't want to post it. I know I wouldn't want to see it. I like happy nice shows. Posted via Mobile Device

Re: 60-66's in the movies
A long time ago I had a neighbor stop by and tell me they were filming part of a movie in Humble ,a city about 40 miles from us . The movie was set in 1975 so they were looking for older vehicles to use . We went to check it out and they paid me fifty bucks to use my truck. They only used it for background and if you didn't know when to look for it you would probably miss it. It was only on screen for a second or two. The movie was Rush with Sam Elliot and Jennifer Jason Leigh and Jason Patric. The only scene my truck was in was one where Jason Patric walks in the front door of the police station. If you look behind him you can see it just for a second. I would have liked to have met Sam Elliot since we are big fans but we didn't get the opportunity . I just looked it up,it was filmed in 1991.

Re: 60-66's in the movies
I just saw a Marathon gas commercial with a short glimpse of a red 64-5-6 I think. I tried to search online but can't come up with anything, so maybe I'll see it again eventually. I assume it's a relatively new commercial.
