Re: Yet Another s10 swap
I do not quite get it. You cannot adjust the regulator to raise the line pressure? Adjusting the regulator should reduce the amount of the bypassed fuel in the return line. To answer your question yes you could restrict the return line by using a fitting with a smaller orfice or use a smaller line. Let us know how you come out. I just thought of this Is the incoming fuel pressure to high for the regulator? Most regulators have a pressure range.

Re: Yet Another s10 swap
had to get another fuel pressure regulator with the by pass ,the other one was not a bypass regulator [to my suprise] got the new regulator in and works great ,can hold &adjust pressure now!! while i was checking for gas leaks ,my new canister fuel filter was leaking in the mid seam where it was put together , think i will go get a glass fuel filter so i can see the filter . thanks for all of your help !!! next step is to find a radiator i seen someone had a site for them at [your auto cooling sorce.com] and found a #cu0511 which i think will work ..

Re: Yet Another s10 swap
glad you figured it out. I'd suggest a plastic clear fuel filter, over the glass one.

Re: Yet Another s10 swap
papa,
Thanks, I don't recall off hand, but I do remember trying twice to find the right hose. I went in the back and sorted through all the hoses at advanced auto. my rad is titled forward, not sure how much yours is, so I'm sure that would effect the hose a bit. You could just get a flex hose or something and find your bends and take that into the auto part store. But I'll try and dig up the part number. I believe I kept the hose sticker, for this very reason. I also have the receipt but that will take forever to sift through.

Re: Yet Another s10 swap
The brake pedal assemble I used was from the 1993 S15 chassis I used for the swap. Bolts in and gives mounting for brake booster or hydro booster on the firewall side.

Re: Yet Another s10 swap
papa's52. I used parts from speedway motors for both top and bottom hoses. I do not like the look of flex hoses. Speedway offers straight hose and metal bends with bead on the ends.

Re: Yet Another s10 swap
Hey, I've been looking at some different pictures of the cab mounts and had a question about these revised drawings. Most other drawings show the front mount being taller than the rear mount. I saw the originals in post 9 here:
http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/s...&highlight=s10 Post 12 of this thread mentions front 3/4 inches taller than the rear. These seem like they would give the cab a different rake, am I miss reading something here? |

Re: Yet Another s10 swap
I'd make the mounts even off the frame all the way around, on an s10 frame. On OG frame should be the same off hand,
only reason I could see the .25" difference is maybe frame kick up. which I can't recall on either frames, pretty sure they are pretty level in the cab areas. If you were that worried about, run a level across them all when you moch it up. My first truck I did on s10 frame and I make them about 3.5" off frame to the top of the bushing and cap I used.

Re: Yet Another s10 swap
3.5 to 4 is def the norm. You'll prolly have to make a trans tunnel and a little bit of driveshaft tunnel, no big deal.

Re: Yet Another s10 swap
I guess I need to apologize for being away so long. Cancer is a *****, but if you have a goal you can accomplish anything. This truck has kept me focused, if not mentally occupied through some dark times. It will be on the road soon. Not pretty or perfect, but burning back tires by the case. I'll post some photos and maybe a video when she's operational. Thanks to all who post. You guys are great.

Good to hear from you. Just take care of yourself. You know something I've communicated with you here many times over the years and I just now noticed you are from Caldwell Idaho. That is where my mom was from and where she and my dad met. Small world.
