Re: my 50 build... why not?
Pretty much a stock lq4 6.0. Custom cam, worked holley hp by c&s, and e85. Probably won't be over 15-17 lbs non intercooled. I will eventually build a forged 40x block, but this will do the trick for now. Hoping to break 9's on the first track outing. *nail biter*

Re: my 50 build... why not?
I wish I had some for ya. Just working on the house yet. Still need baseboard and molding. Then, switch a few outlets and switches, then I should be sanding in the garage.

Re: my 50 build... why not?
Base board is over rated. Work on the truck. I'm thinking 5.3 in mine, unless a 6.0 comes along. Turbo would be nice too. Great job, going to be a nice ride.

Re: my 50 build... why not?
Box is about ready for primer. Hopefully this weekend I will be able to get it, the running boards, and splash aprons primed, blocked, and reprimed. Then in the next couple months, everything from the cowls to the tailgate will be DONE! Set of wisecos. S718 wrist pin upgrade Main studs Lunati h beams with arp 2000s I sent the Frankenstein carb to Kevin at CSU. Also, sent the converter back to freakshow to get re stalled. I had it set up for all motor. Now I'm going all out or nothing. Lil johns big motor purchase was made on Monday. That has head studs, ls9 gaskets, custom cam, springs, pushrods, and ect, ls7 lifters, trays, melling oil pump, rocker arm trunion upgrade, timing chain, and jgs 60mm bov. Still have to get 2 40 mm jgs gates, boost controller, driveshaft, flex plate, balancer, and probably all the nickel and diming **** that comes with this. It's pretty crazy to see all these high quality parts. I've never done anything even close to this, so it should be fun.

Re: my 50 build... why not?
Nebdrummer, raised bed looks great. Motor sounds like it will be a monster. Maybe another garage burnout will be in order.
I’ve purchased what looks to be the same wheel tubs for my raised bed. Looks like the two wheel tubs are different in the pics. Just wondering what modifications you did to it and how? Thanks Shawn

Re: my 50 build... why not?
Thanks guys. Yes, I could probably work another garage burnout video in the mix. Lol
Bubba, the two tubs actually started as one fender. I bought it from tractor supply company. It was their biggest one for like $40. I cut it directly down the center and lucked out. It was an absolute perfect fit minus a tiny bit of trimming. So I cut it in half, then I took it to a harbor freight shrinker/stretcher to stretch the fenders out to the length I needed. I think it was right at 23". Then I just cut a piece to fill in the inside and welded everything together.. Box has the first coat of primer on it. I filled the stake pocket holes, filled some holes, fixed a few cracks in the running boards, and did a bunch of seam sealing. Going to block and reprime this week.

Re: my 50 build... why not?
Box, splash aprons, and runningboards are all blocked and reprimed along with a new tailgate. Hopefully a week or so before color is on it. But, with my luck lately, probably not.
Motor is at the machine shop, so a few weeks, I should have that back for assembly. If it goes as planned, I will have the back half of the pickup stuff painted and mounted so I can quickly sand and buff all the parts before the motor gets back. Hen it's all nice and clean when it's in the garage. I got my pair of waste gates and started fabbing up the turbo mount/hot piping with the v-bands. A good friend of mine welds for a stainless pipe company and he can get his hands on a whole bunch of stainless, so my hot side will all be done out of that. He will be coming down and tigging it all together for me. Only a matter of time now! First carshow I wanna try and get to is in Columbus Nebraska on May 23-25th. I think it will be pretty tough to get it done, but maybe. If not, then my eyes are set on north plate Nebraska in September. I don't think I will be comfortable driving it this early to the Minnesota show.

Re: my 50 build... why not?
Carb should be back from csu this week or beginning of next.
Converter will be here tomorrow. motor might be done this week yet as well. If not, beginning of next week. Did some wet sanding and buffing on the lower half of the back of the cab. Started sanding on the rest. Aaaand and box, running boards, splash aprons, and tailgate are painted.

Re: my 50 build... why not?
I plan on getting all the wet sanding and buffing done on the box, cab, and doors this weekend. Then I can throw on the rear fenders and running boards. Then I'll give the bed wood a good sanding. Stain it a bit darker, and throw that all in.
Motor is done for the most part. Waiting in some money for a balancer, flex plate, solid moor and trans mounts, and valley gasket. Then I can throw the engine and trans in. I found a tight spot to tuck the alternator up in. I swiped an alternator off a newer Buick with the long mounting ear. It lines up perfect with a timing cover bolt. Then I just have to make a small upper and lower mount off the side of the block.

Re: my 50 build... why not?
Not a whole lot to update on this, but I got all the glass in today, power steering is done, bed wood is sanded back down for the new stain and varnish, and inner fenders are trimmed up for the a arms and power steering hoses. I'm still unsure what I'm going to do for the wood color.
Well, we got the motor and trans out in last night. And found that the alternator I have won't work how I had planned. I need to see if I can borrow a small 93mm denso unit for mock up. Then, I found that the passenger truck manifold won't clear the frame. So now, a list of things I need. Random assortment of lsX passenger side manifolds to find one that fits, or a custom set of headers will be in order. 93mm denso alternator, F body power steering setup for mockup to see if that will even work. Edelbrocks victor series 8895 water pump. Clockwise rotation eBay NASCAR pulley to fit the water pump Jegs sfi f body balancer Balancer installer/remover 64.25" driveshaft Catch can Pre and post fuel fittings And a ****load of AN fuel fittings and hose. I found out that speedway doesn't price match. So I got the tci flexplate elsewhere for right at $100 cheaper from summit. While I was clocking the housings on the turbo, I figured I would show off some billet love.
