Looks like part of the window trim has dropped down in the center. Show a picture a bit farther back.

That's what I was thinking. Something doesn't look right on the painted part just above the chrome window trim.

Re: Be Gentle. . . I'm an Amateur.

It was before I put the set screw in. I fixed that part, still couldn't get it to the top. I'll get a better pic tomorrow.

Thanks.

Re: Be Gentle. . . I'm an Amateur.

I can squeeze both sides of the window and pull it a little higher, but it wins stay up. Almost stripped out the handle trying to keep it raised. Any suggestions? Is it the new guides? When looking at the regulator, the teeth are towards the handle side and you can see the spring wrapping around the bottom of the regulator. I don't think I have the regulator upside down or if that's even possible.

Re: Be Gentle. . . I'm an Amateur.

Looks like it's tipped down in the front. So it's probably binding up. I can't tell you how or where, but that's what I would be looking for.

I agree with 68SS, seem like the rear of glass in raising faster that the front. Can you loosen the screws for the regulator, pull the front of glass up a little and then retighten the regulator screws....Jim

Re: Be Gentle. . . I'm an Amateur.

great looking truck and progress. that your 57 as well? nice!!! as for the window I'm sure none of has the exact answer for you since we can't really see what is goin on. Did the other side work?

I personally feel its in the regulator, it just seems like its maxing out. I'd take it out and make sure its in the right position.

the back portion theory may be somewhat right, but I don't think thats your sole problem. If you look close your back isn't even up into the window track fully.

Here is a pic of what you should have correct?

I'd suggest maxing out your regulator either all way up or down and installing in correspondence with window all way up or down.

Re: Be Gentle. . . I'm an Amateur.

Yeah, the '57 is going to be on hold until I get this one buttoned up.

I haven't messed with the windows. It's the same on both sides, about an inch short of closing. Even pulling by hand it's short, makes me think it's the regulators. I'll try and mess with it some this weekend.

Got the back fenders and drivers front fender on today though.

Re: Be Gentle. . . I'm an Amateur.

Spent approximately 30 hours trying to line up the hood and front fenders. I ended up taking it to a local guy that I met thru another board member (Thanks Hooch). Millard got the hood to close and is still working on the gaps. It's gonna be a booger. Ended up having to raise the front body mounts 1 1/2".

But after I saw the "Mocha Steel Metallic" on the newer GM models I've kind of been jumping back and forth. I know I definitely want some pinstriping done afterwards and I'm not sure how great it would look with the brown. I know kustombrad http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=320546 did some stripes with brown and it looked great. Any input appreciated.

If it helps, I'm planning on these wheels.

Kind of partial to the green myself.

I really like the color you went with too. Looks good. Going to do my 48 truck in the new Impala blue. Thought about having car and truck same green but decided on blue.

dang, yeah good luck with that. I'v heard some horror stories on fitment and really, the factory never cared about fitment. the hood to fender is a pain I feel either you luck out or you don't with what you get to start with.

ever jump back on your window issue?

I ended up stripping the pass side regulator trying to force it up. I'll have to take it all back out and replace the regulator. Hopefully better on the second go round. On a good glass note, I got the front, back, and corner glass put in (hired it out). Looks great.

Dakota VHX gauges installed.

It also smelled like it was running a little rich. May get it tuned by a guy around here. That being said, it sounds nes incredible when it's running.
