Re: Streetrod Farm Truck build..."the Diesel"
Well after a long talk with my wife about all our trucks. We've decided to not sell this truck. We were gonna sell it to pay off some bills to help with our refi we have coming up. Well we have come up with money by other means so this truck is staying. Originally when this truck was gonna be sold I had planned to put all the goodies from it on the crewcab but now that we're keeping the farm truck, everything and then some is going on this truck. The crewcab on the other hand is going to be a budget build 'truck'. I posted a book over on the crewcab thread of the plans for it. I'm not going to post the plans for this truck just yet except what's in my signature. I will 'show' you what I'm going to do.

Re: Streetrod Farm Truck build..."the Diesel"
Yep done all the renovations up to this point by myself with the help of my wife and dad some. I've gotta do some more Sheetrock work, instal the last four cabinets and then it's gonna be time to call lowes and have them come out do the countertops. And them we'll get the tile going. So we're almost there with the kitchen. Thanks for the comments

Re: Streetrod Farm Truck build..."the Diesel"
coys are back up for sale with a lower price in the for sale forum...I'm not gonna drive this truck for a good while so I figured I'd sell the coys and use the money to get a D60 and wheels and tires for the crew cab...

Re: Streetrod Farm Truck build..."the Diesel"
Well I'm bringing this back from the depths of page 5 lol.
Anyways, as some of you already know, the upholstery work that I have been doing for board members has been work on the side. Well I've finally taken the plunge and I'm going to open my own shop. I have a building picked out that I'm going to buy and some of the other ends and outs worked out. When I open the shop I will be sure to let everyone know I'm officially open for business So that leads me back to the diesel. Every good shop should have a demo vehicle to show off their talents. So that's where the diesel comes into play. First off I need to get the diesel mechanically sound, replace or fix the transmission that's in there, fix the leaks. The diesel is staying put in the engine bay. I had thought about swapping is out for an ls motor but I really like the 6.2 and it's more unique and already runs great. Second, the truck is going to be getting a round eye front end. It's going to get a small cowl hood and a 73 frontend. The truck is going to get one piece windows, smooth chrome bumpers, new paint, and full factory trim. I talked to Nathan Porter the other night and the trucks going to be getting a complete dropmember front end including Porterbuilt control arms, full rear trailing arm kit, complete air suspension setup. I'm keeping the coys that are on it now. The rear end will get disc brakes and wilwoods calipers all the way around. The bed will also get a raised wood floor if I can make it work. Now to the interior. The interior of course has to be as good as the the rest of the truck lol. I'm not going to devulge too much, but I will say that it'll have a different dash, a console from front to back that flows into a speaker box across the back wall. Of course it will have buckets. I will be getting a rendering done. When that's done y'all will have a better idea of everything. Posted via Mobile Device Last edited by Stitch; 12-30-2010 at 03:26 PM. |

Re: Streetrod Farm Truck build..."the Diesel"
Thanks fellas. I can't wait to get started. I'll probably get the rendering done before I actually start heavy on it. Jdurant is doing the rendering so it's gonna look great. He does outstanding work. He's actually going to do two renderings of the truck for me. One based more on the whole truck and the other based more on the interior. I'm gonna hang them on the wall in my showroom/lobby

Re: Streetrod Farm Truck build..."the Diesel"
Hell yeah man. Another thing I forgot about was I sold my turbo stuff and that deal fell through so I still have the whole turbo setup for the 6.2 and everything and I'm eventually going to put that on there also
