Re: My '74 build- "Clifford"
It's crazy, isn't it? She is getting mouthy to match, though. We had a good time hanging out on Saturday. Trying to keep her a Daddy's girl.

Re: My '74 build- "Clifford"
I was able to get the charging system to see things my way, and charge @ 14.5V last night. Sometimes things that are supposed to be plug and play....... aren't. That sure takes a lot of fun out of things.

Re: My '74 build- "Clifford"
Time for an update. I got new tires mounted on my wheels this weekend, and put them on the truck. I had to pick up some more lug nuts, so I headed over to O'Reilly's. They were having a car show, so I parked, paid an entry fee, and went in to get my parts. Not too long later, they called out my number, and we had won a trophy. My daughter was pretty stoked; she has been wanting to sleep with it since. I have been referring to the truck as "the award winning Clifford". at least I think it's funny.
Anyway, here are a few pics I snapped this afternoon.

She's laid claim to the truck, too. The trophy is probably the least of it.

Re: My '74 build- "Clifford"
Nice, congrats on the unintentional trophy
The truck looks real nice with those slots on it. How is it running, you get the TBI issues worked out?

Re: My '74 build- "Clifford"
I finally got the truck to see things my way yesterday. I figured it was going to be something simple, and it was. A few weeks ago, I was given a free 60K mile 305 TBI, just come and get it. I went to go pick it up, and by the time I got home, the truck would barely get out of it's own way, and it set the check engine light. I go to looking at the new engine (stuck in the back of the truck), and noticed the distributor clocked way different from mine. The way I had my distributor, it was limited by the wires coming off of the coil. I pulled and reclocked the distributor, swapped out the plug wires (new Delco wires are crap, BTW), and added 2 degrees of timing. Took it for a ride yesterday evening, and it was so smooth Bella fell asleep during the ride. I am declaring it fixed, at least for now. Thank goodness, I was ready to pull the TBI off and put a carb on it.

Re: My '74 build- "Clifford"
The tires are 245/60 on the fronts, and 255/70 on the rears. The wheels are 15x8.5's. I didn't bother to check backspacing when I bolted them on, just checked for fit.

Re: My '74 build- "Clifford"
I've been working on the interior a little bit. Other than putting a radio back in the dash and the faceplate on, I am just about done. Here is a teaser pic:
