Re: My 64 C-10 fleetside shortbed build
LOL, Nah my arms and shoulders feel pretty good compared to blocking that body filler. I blocked it first with 180 grit and then the 360 grit. I only have a couple small spots that need another coat. Im pretty happy with it. Flips what are you going to paint the inside floor of your cab with??

Re: My 64 C-10 fleetside shortbed build
i like the lizard skin, but was researching the paint and body section and found u-pol raptor bed liner material 109.00 with free shipping and i had often said i would to take the cab and have the underside done with linex, might go this way and just paint the inside and use the jute backing fire wall pad with some dynamat then carpet. ithink the bed liner material which is tintable would look good and be tough. what do you think?

Re: My 64 C-10 fleetside shortbed build
yeah flips, I thought about doing that roll-on bed liner on the inside of the cab floor and then some mat insulation of some sort. I guess a good coat of paint would do just as good though. Im not sure yet.
Lostmy65> I never noticed those waffle marks on the floor, wonder what made those or why they are there.

You have a pretty good cab to start with, and finding those doors, what a score.

I just ordered a 2.5 tip primer gun off ebay so I can try and spray the slick sand again. Maybe the weather will be good enough next weekend so I can finish my roof. I want to flip the cab back upright for the last time so I can finish the body work on the back of the cab and the cab corner I put on, Then I can sit the cab back on the frame "I HOPE". I cant wait to see the cab back on the frame with the bed on and see how this thing is going to look.

Re: My 64 C-10 fleetside shortbed build
LOL flips, Yeah it killing me not working on the truck. I been working 7 days a week, babysitting when I get home until wife gets off work, kids homework, then supper togather=== recliner around 7:00. When we get some dryer and warmer weather and the days are longer im planning on getting back on the truck hard. I bought a brand new whirlpool window AC unit unopened in the box from my neighor for 100 bucks. it still had the price tag on it for 239.99. So this summer my shop will be cool so I can get something done. I did go down there tonight and clean all the gunk and mess out of the windsheild channel with thinner and scuffed it up for primer. Also finished blocking the roof waiting on weather to apply the last coat of slick sand. I got my new 2.5 tip primer gun and picked up some more 220 grit sandpaper. If anyone reading this hasnt checked out amazon.com then you need to. They have tons of bodyshop supplys like paint, paint guns, blocks, tools and sandpaper. Also cheapest prices around I think. Just need some time now!!

Re: My 64 C-10 fleetside shortbed build
I just got my last batch of supplies from Summit. The local body supply was 2x's the price on some items. Havent checked out Amazon.
I'm interested in the slicksand. Seems like a good way to coat a panel.

Nice job on the build. I never seem to find any deals like that out here in Cali. At least not when I have any money.

Re: My 64 C-10 fleetside shortbed build
I also found a brand new 64 license plate for my truck. It has the original paint on it and even had some of the wax paper still stuck to it, never been on a vehicle before. Its even a real low number. I think I did ok for 15.00 bucks.

Re: My 64 C-10 fleetside shortbed build
I know what you mean niterider, I do all my priming outside also. I couldnt imagine spraying inside my shop with no exhaust fan. I would have overspray on everything in the shop> not good. I think the weather is finally turning now. Days get longer tonight for us so maybe I will have some time in the evenings to get some work done. been a real slow go on the truck lately. I did finally finish my roof and fliped the cab upright for the last time so ill start the bodywork on the back of the cab this week and maybe in the next few weeks I can sit the cab back on the frame.

Re: My 64 C-10 fleetside shortbed build
We had some great weather today. Sunny and about 77 degrees. I got home from work and decided to set the cab back on the frame. This was a really easy deal and didnt need any help.
