Pics from this weekends Syracuse Nationals. Was an awesome show. Official numbers are not out yet but i heard 8100+ cars and trucks were there. Last pic(with hood and toneau cover open) is from the local reporter. He shot my truck again. This time it was just online(syracuse.com). But still cool.

At the show i was able to find a set of 67 plates for the truck. Mailed out all the forums today, hope to get the ok to run them by next weekend. Also picked up an owners manual and 67 dealer pamphlet for the truck.

Found out through facebook(i dont usually go on there, but was looking for photos of the truck from last weeks nationals show). and found out there was an import,tuner and street truck show today. I saw fellow member cflvulcan was going and i figured what the heck i will go. The show was street scene 14 in liverpool ny. Turned out to be a really good show. I am guessing there was around 40 or so trucks(300 plus overall). From lifted to slammed. Some really wild rides. They ended up hang a lowest car and truck competition and also a limbo competition(had to be able to roll under it). I figured what the heck i would try the lowest truck one. Didnt think i had a shot, there was some s10s and blazers there that were really low/ frame layers. With so many on the ground the measured to the lowest point of the door when opened. Mine was 4 and 1/4 inches The limbo i didnt bother(no shot against the shorter small trucks). I ended up getting called for the lowest truck. About 5 mins after that i was called up again. I took best truck also. Cant explain how happy i was. The plaque is actually a skate board deck(very cool and different). The bike is cflvulcan`s wife`s ride. Has a sick paint job done by Tom. He also air brushed the bed floor in his truck to look like wood, but for some reason i forgot to get a pic. Found one on fb.

Been way to long since my last post. Well the big show i go to each year is a week away(syracuse nationals there`s around 8000 cars/trucks). So sticking to the last 3 years i guess i need to tear it apart the week before(I have been told i am crazy). Wanted to tackle the motor and let it breath alittle. Started out when we painted it we noticed a small crack in the top mounting hole for the power steering bracket. Never leaked, but it always has bothered me. So i searched craigslist for a head. Got lucky and found a guy that had 3 complete 194 motors. Talked him in to selling me a head complete for $50.
Disassembled the head and had it checked for cracks. Came out fine. Glass beaded the head and valves. Checked all the stems and guides and they were still in tolerance. Lapped all the valve`s in and reassembled the head. Test fitted the new offenhauser 5416 intake and the stovebolt headers. Replaced the chrome valve cover with a scripted one. Sanded that down and painted it. came out ok.

going to headers created a few challenges. Biggest one was the back one dumps right down were the shifter linkages are(for a 3ott shifter-pics are 2 post down). So i had to switch over to a floor shifter. Found a hurst mystery shifter on ebay complete except for the shift arm for $59 shipped. I made the adapter you see in the first 2 pics to adapt a smaller shaft to it. bottom thread is 7/8 fine and top is 1/2*13(for size). Third picture is the finished shifter. The console added some challanges. Had to bend it twice, one to miss the console and the other to miss the dash. Feels good were it ended up.
Also you can just barely see it, but i added leather trailblazer ss seats. I will get a better pic.

Old head off(pic 1). Surface cleaned and new gasket on(pic 2). New head in and torqued down, valves all set(pic 3). Intake, headers and valve cover on(pic 4).

Pic one shows the side look of the headers, pic two you can see how close the hears come to the z bar. If i left it 3ott i am not sure were i could run the exhaust. Thats why i switched to floor shifter.

I maded a bracket to hold my heater hoses coming off the firewall. No more laying on my slosh tubz. The top line you see is the return line for the heated intake. One thing i found out with the 194 head is that it doesnt have a hole for the temp sender. Had to tee of the thermostat housing for it.
For the carb linkage i ended up going with a lokar cable. Made it way easier than the bellcrank and cable system that comes with the offenhauser intake. The bracket you see is just a template to get it running/try it out. will clean it up and paint it(and also make a mount for the return spring). I lucked out and a friend had the lokar cable he wasnt using.

Nice, How you like your inline? I wish Id gone with a 4 barrel on mine instead of 2 2 barrells, I dont think they throw enough gas.

Thanks!! Sorry for the late response. I have had a very long week leading up to the show. Then i spend friday and saturday at the show*walked almost 14 miles around the fairgrounds). Truck ran great, i put 150 miles on her this weekend. To me it has alot more power/response. I am very happy with the results. Love the sound with the twin 22" cherry bombs.

I bought a 2 piece driveshaft off the parts board from a lwb truck(mine was originally a 1 piece shaft). i ended up having to get a new rear shaft made. It needed to be almost 3"`s longer because of the porterbuilt front and rear dropmembers with my engine/tranny combo. cost me $130 for new rear shaft and new carrier bearing with a balance.

New seats pic added(for some reason I never uploaded it when I put them in this summer. they are very comfy. After 5 years of owning/working on katy I have decided to put a feeler craigslist add up. if I can get what I think its worth(or close to it) I will move on to something different. If not I will keep motoring on with her. Theres a few things I would like to redo/upgrade(bed floor-it works, but I have a new idea and full American autowire kit-so I can safely add my heater and power seats).

thanks!! scored it off ebay for just under $200. great product, but there customer support is lacking(imho). I had a question when installing it. Called them 3 days in a row left a message each time to call me back and they never did. Came on here found a pinout of the stock wiring and figured it out myself.
