Well after a little break from the pacific NW rain, we took the truck out for a little warm up, fixed a few more leaks and off to see Bruce at Vintage Rod barn for a hood fitting party and four hours later here is the result. Lots of pushing, pulling, moving, a little grinding and it really looks great. Now if I can get the brakes working properly things will be super. Thanks again Bruce for all your time tonight and beautiful paint work on our project

 What did you use under the cowl? Some sort of screen or something? I had seen them in one of the catalogs I think... What's your take on it? |

I used the stainless screen from Brothers under the cowl, thats the one thing that in the long run could really make a difference for cab rust by keeping all the debris from ending up in the vent system getting wet and rotting. Now with that said I really don't plan on parking under a pine tree and then driving through a rain storm any time soon, but eventually Im sure it will be a driver.

Thanks, trying to get the new brake system bled out, lots of air, but the leaks are all fixed and going to the Portland swap meet with the boys tonight to look for some treasures.

We we ran her down the road yeaterday, still no bed but everything so far seems to be working and just chasing down a few small leaks here and there, hopefully we get the bed and tailgate in a few weeks. Starting our new shop and home for the truck next week so we can have a bit more work space, a 48 x 48 should keep us busy for a while, my oldest want to live in it, so we are putting a loft in the back for a future man room. If I can figure out how to post video, we will post a little sound for you all.

Well we are just waiting for the bed, everything else is about wrapped up and working, so we started on a little project to keep us busy, a 1946 Gilbarco gas pump to restore, it says .39.9 per gallon still on it, I wish gas was still that cheep! and here is a pic of the new shop going up, should be ready for its new truck bay by the end of the month We will just have to wait for power and lights for a while, the boys broke the bank and Mama is no too happy

Thanks guys, now the truck will have a home all for it self, away from all my tools, dust and less of a chance for accidents. Just plumbed in a urinal and a sink today, that should about cover us when were working. tomorrow up goes the roof!

Love the truck (I love the light olive green). I love even more seeing your boys enjoying working on the truck. My boys are 15 and 10, but I'm still trying to get them interested in something besides video games and girls.

Great job Robert. Its the kids that make it fun, at least it was for me. Its heart warming to see your boys in the shop with tools and hearing protection! You are doing it right and not just with the truck. We showed our father/son project today for the first time, it was very gratifying. When you come up to Seattle, give me a call and we'll get both our boys and trucks together! Thanks for shipping the trans temp gauge too. Again, great job Robert, very very nice. G.

Well, still awaiting the bed, but we have driven the truck, sorted out all the little leaks and just finished the outside of the new shop,now its getting the electrical in and frame a few walls, my boys are learning the art of carpentry and plumbing which of course includes ditch digging 101, which my oldest Wyatt does a fantastic job at as well as everythinhg else he touches, and Jake my 12 year old is right there with him.
