Re: Canadian Rustbucket 66
Recently got the wheel tubs and the tailgate back from paint. Also all the carriage head bolts that are painted to match, that go around the perimeter and fasten the wheel tubs down. Getting interesting now. I am having an air brush artist paint the Chevrolet script on the tailgate kind of the same as the script on the box sides. I won't install it until he is finished. Lots of work to do now.

OUTSTANDING !!! I would have been happy with it before you rebuilt it, the second time. This is just over the top. Fantastic!

Re: Canadian Rustbucket 66
Great finishing touches on a cool build. I really like the chev scripts between the side trim.

Re: Canadian Rustbucket 66
Thanks fellas for the compliments, I appreciate that. It's been a while, but more progress has happened. The seat is at the upholsterers, and the fuel tanks should be here soon. I just got the tailgate back from the airbrush guy, and I am very pleased. The script is the same as the ones at the rear of the boxsides, only larger lettering. I will install it real soon.

Re: Canadian Rustbucket 66
Very, very nice! That is the same script as I have on the back of my 57 Bel Aire continental kit.

Re: Canadian Rustbucket 66
Your build continues to inspire me sir!!
That tailgate is pretty awesome. I hope I can get my stepside tailgate on a par level as yours, though it will be different, of course.

Re: Canadian Rustbucket 66
I got the dash extension piece back from the painter recently. Installed the A/C vents, passenger window switch, gas tank switch, and mounted it. Need to plumb the A/C hoses next.

Re: Canadian Rustbucket 66
Had some time lately to mess with the truck. Just received the fibreglass thing that I built for behind the seat from the painter. I still have some work to do on it, install speakers and wiring and line the inside storage area with carpet. The inside is still fibreglass. in the last two pics, I have installed a 1/4" rivnut on the lid. Last pic has a choke knob, like the one on the dash installed using a short piece of 1/4 threaded rod.

Re: Canadian Rustbucket 66
Speakers and wiring installed, with weatherpack connectors inside, just in case it has to be taken back out at some point. Also lined the inside with the same carpet as the floor. Should keep anything from rattling around inside there, and is smoother to the touch than the fibreglass. Should have it installed in the next couple days, pics coming soon.

That is a very nice usable addition to your truck. Are you driving your truck if not what do you have to compete .

Re: Canadian Rustbucket 66
Thanks guys. I am getting near the end, kind of exciting now. I should receive the fuel tanks any day now. Install them and fire up the engine, that will be a big day. The seat is at the upholsters, and the stereo is being worked on right now also. Found a guy that takes your original radio and puts all the functions inside it. AM/ FM , ipod connection, satellite if you want it, electric antenna wire, and it uses the stock knobs. I will keep the ipod in the ashtray. Still need mufflers and exhaust, wheel alignment, and the A/C charged. The end is in sight.

Re: Canadian Rustbucket 66
Thanks again. Got the speaker box/ storage thing installed. Hooked up the speaker wires, ready for a stereo, hopefully soon. The seat is still at the upholsters, it will be nice to get that in, instead of the milk box I have been sitting on.
