Re: Papa's 67 step side (aka ANOTHER porterbuilt prison)
You can do it, although i have never done it. But if you like a lot of us on here we think we cant do something untill we are forced too because of no local help or no money. We end up doing it and then realize it wasn't that bad. thats happen to me a lot and lost motivation until i jumped in again. And good job on your build so far.

Re: Papa's 67 step side (aka ANOTHER porterbuilt prison)
I will be starting a build on a 67 GMC stepper so I'm excited to see a build similar to what my goals are. I will be following along for sure and it looks like your making good progress.

Hey when did coach and Justice start selling truck parts, haha.
Have fun with the wiring I have yet to start to tackle that mess.

I have done both in the past.... the way it actually went was first I modified the factory harness to try and save some money. Then after I had spent tons of time and wasn't happy I purchased an aftermarket harness. It was plug and play. Three wires to hook up: power, accessory power, and a ground wire. I feel your pain... but think that once it gets dialed in you will be more than happy that you went with the LS swap. NO comparison. Nate

You probably already know but I'll ask? 1.) Do you have fuel (correct pressure at the rail and are your injectors firing)? 2.) Do you have spark? 3.) Does your engine try to start at all? I had clogged injectors from old gas in the rail. It would try to start but wouldn't run. I'm no expert but I would be happy to help troubleshoot based on my experience |

Re: Papa's 67 step side (aka ANOTHER porterbuilt prison)
What year of motor?
Who tuned your computer? Did they/you delete the VATS? Are you sure the wire that connects to the injectors has power while your are turning the motor over? (you can't just use any accessory wire) How long has the motor sat? Some time the injectors get gummed up. I know some people will disagree, but a new harness from a reputable company, is the best bang for your buck......

lt1swap.com did the basic tune/deletes That is next on my list to check (i can just use multimeter while turning over right?) I have no clue how long it sat. it looked pretty decent when i pulled the heads, and it seems to turn over fine. |

Sweet stepside build, im in the process of doing a similar build on a 69 stepper minus the ls swap. Good luck with that wiring.
