Re: Mike's 50
Last couple days have made a little progress.
Yesterday I finished cab windlace on around the passenger door, just need to trim the ends on both doors. Earlier in the week upper radiator hose pieces all I think I will need. I'm waiting on some new hose cutting tools I ordered and then I will start working on hose. Today I started to mock up mounting of my "electrical Center" under the seat. Its made of 3/16 aluminum sheet, engine ECM, TCM, and Fuse/Relay center and Dakota Digital box are temporarily mounted with misc, screws. The chassis fuse panel will be mounted on this panel also, still need to mount it to the floor..

Re: Mike's 50
I also installed my windshield by myself and it wasn't terrible but its in and hopefully weather tight. My hands are really sore from Beating on the windshield and seal/outer molding, during install. took a couple hours. I still need to install inner garnish moldings and outer center molding.
I brought them home to clean them up alittle. I also put on the inner fenders, well just because I feel like I'm making progress, not sure if I'll need to remove them for other front end installation.

Re: Mike's 50
Well have not been to productive on truck this week/weekend. I mounted the Windshield inner Garnish molding. I'm not sure if it was originally chrome but it is what came with my truck they were not new. I like them, might not be good in the sun.
I also mounted my overflow tank, might be redoing it later not much clearance. Not getting much done is pushing my soft "want to have road worthy" in April is slipping away

Re: Mike's 50
Got the coating on underside of front fenders and panels from radiator support to fender.
This should allow me to go ahead and bolt up front clip. I rolled the bead on the Aluminum 90* elbow for upper radiator hose. I also ordered and received -6 AN PTFE lined stainless braided Hose and fittings for my trans cooler. I dropped off at a waterjet/laser cutter, to cut me some trans cooler mounting brackets should have those back and get my buddy to weld them for me.

Re: Mike's 50
Not a lot of progress. this weekend I got 1 piece of Dynamat on roof, I also painted sprayed the front hood brace/latch pin. I bead blasted awhile back and just sprayed with a clear coat.
How important are the rods/braces in the front corners of the hood? I only have one of them and haven't reinstalled. Still having the transcooler mounts made and when they are done I will post a picture. Think my buddy will be coming over this coming weekend to align the front end and doors

Re: Mike's 50
Mike, The rod's on the fenders help with alignment of the fenders (pull them in) as well as keep them a little bit more stable.
That being said, Guy's do leave them out if your going with the Patina look and are not over concerned with the hood to fender line. Hope this helps Mark.

Re: Mike's 50
Here is the transmission oil cooler set up I plan to run. I plan to run it mounted to the outside of the frame just in front of the middle running board bracket on the right side. hopefully it will work ok. The fittings will be on top and come out just above the frame rail.

Re: Mike's 50
Before drilling mounting holes in frame, you guys think the location of the cooler will be a problem? it is above the running board mount, I think I will be putting a drop down battery in front of it which I think will hang lower than the cooler.
effectiveness not sure of but cant change it up latter if not working properly.

Re: Mike's 50
It's hard to find space for a cooler isn't it?
I think with a fan it will move the air just fine where you have it.

Re: Mike's 50
Got it mounted. used 5/16-18 rivet nuts in the frame. I still need to finish the cooler lines and wire the fan.
I also got some more dyna mat installed.

Re: Mike's 50
Made alittle progress over the last week. Got Dynamat on Roof done other than tape, ordered more. Finished floor other than behind the seat riser and a bit of the back panel. Mounted the electrical panel under seat need a couple more mounts for the center of panel.
Started some wiring at the back to the fuel pump, fuel level sender and the rear light wiring. Will secure more later once I get the bed mounted Wrapping with Painless power braid, I'm trying MagDaddy's for mounting harnesses. and just a picture of it with running board on.

Re: Mike's 50
Looks really good Mike. I like the look of the powerbraid. It will be interesting to see how the magnetic clips work out for mounting the harness. Good progress!
