Re: 1952 Chevy Vette Roadmaster LT1 Farm Truck Build
Another day work'in on the truck and play'in with the boys. Got the shock mounts in and carrier mount in. Took longer than I thought but that's how things have been going. Super happy how things are turning out.
Those that have asked about the pdf's, PM me your email and I will send you what I have. Here's a few pics of how things look now. First few are of the carrier mount before being welded in.

Re: 1952 Chevy Vette Roadmaster LT1 Farm Truck Build
A few more with the carrier mount actually welded in this time.
That's it for today. Not much going to get done tomorrow as it's Mothers day. Will be a good family day. Have a good weekend all!

These brackets are so over built, I love it. Build it so you could land 747s on the frame and she wouldn't budge. I envy your design and welding skills. Keep on keeping on, and sharing. Thanks NC

Re: 1952 Chevy Vette Roadmaster LT1 Farm Truck Build
Hey all! Thanks for the comments. You have an awesome ride Shawn! Maybe I'll get that TOTM trophy from ya someday. It's been a bit but grass is growing and the wife wants to do yard work. The progress is not picture worthy yet but I got the dog bone crush sleeves all done and welded in. The front cross member is all welded in. Got my boxing plates sheared up today. $25 bucks for 16' of 3/16" X 5 3/4" plate. I have sheets of 3/16" plate but for $25 bucks cut to size and new steel, I said do it. Saves a ton of work. I will post some pics next week as it's our May 24 long weekend up here and there's beers to consume!
Have a good weekend all!

Re: 1952 Chevy Vette Roadmaster LT1 Farm Truck Build
Looking good, Sid. What is the measurement from the wheel centerline to the batwing mount centerline supposed to be? I can't seem to find this on the net. Thanks.

Re: 1952 Chevy Vette Roadmaster LT1 Farm Truck Build
I don't have that measurement but you could measure from the carrier to the batwing centerline. I just put the half shafts 90 degrees to the drive shaft and angled them down 2 degrees.

Re: 1952 Chevy Vette Roadmaster LT1 Farm Truck Build
A bit of an update and have some questions. I have the frame rails epoxy primed and painted John Deere Blitz black. Ready for the boxing plates which will go in this weekend.
So...........I think I'm going to go the LS route now. I found a 2007 L33 aluminum 5.3 out of a truck pretty local. No harness or ECM. None of the local yards supply the harness or ECM from the donor. All said they harnesses get cut when removing the engine. One place said they have another truck (2005) that came in that has a 5.3 but not the L33 and I could get that harness and ECM. Would those one work with the L33? I bought a programmed ECM from Blackbear Performance for my 04 2500 GMC as it was much cheaper that buying one up here and sending it down to the US to get programmed. They want $500 for a 2wd 4L60E. Should I get that as well or can I use the one out of the 95 roadmaster? Any help with the swap would be appreciated. Done tons of reading but things are starting to get confusing. Info overload.. Cheers!

The L33 and the regular 5.3 share the same electronic hardware and such, it's a difference in the heads (compression ratio is a bit higher and ports are better) that gives it the boost in power - the biggest advantage really being the weight reduction, about 65lbs. As long as you make sure you get a DBW harness, you should be fine - of course the ECM would have to be flashed anyway to get rid of VATS and such to run it stand-alone. Oh. And the FlexFuel - do you know if the '05 is a flex fuel or not? They use different fuel injectors (which have different electrical plugs) and there are some other minor differences in the harness, and in the ECM. As far as I know, none of the L33 engines came in FlexFuel

Re: 1952 Chevy Vette Roadmaster LT1 Farm Truck Build
Thanks Starterman. I would mock up the box and center the wheel where you want it. Don't mount anything by those measurements. Mine came out different based on where I wanted my wheel centre to be.
Are you using a Flat out rear kit BigGlass?

Never said anything about flex fuel but will ask. So I should get the gas pedal out of the truck the ECM and harness came out of?

The '07 had a standalone TCM, in the '05 it's part of the ECM - so if you get the '05 harness and an '05 ECM, it should be able to control the trans. I had misunderstood and thought you had an '07 ECM. It would be easiest to use the '05 trans with the '05 harness, because there are a some changes in the way the trans is wired and the sensors - it can get confusing to try and swap them around. Memory says any trans from 03-07 should work, but the earlier ones are different, as are the later ones. On my '50 project, I'm using a 2011 ECM and TCM and harness with a 2010 trans, which works out fortunately. If you're feeling brave, check out this page: http://lt1swap.com/2000harness.htm ... TONS of info about the differences in the harnesses for the 99-07 style trucks.
