Re: 51 Chev on a S10 frame, named Dale

Hello to my GM Truck family. (and 1 Fargo)

I picked up another project, and No, I am sorry, it is not a truck.

It is a 1958 Pontiac Wagon, with extensive rust. Maybe I should have left it in the junkyard where I found it (Edmonton Alberta) but something about 58 Pontiacs that made me get it.

If anyone is interested in following along (it's gonna take several years on this one) I will be starting a Build thread in the Alternate Tinkerings section.

Cheers, and Happy New Year to all

Love your wheels!

They are just stock 15" GM steelies in 5x4.5?" Do you know the backspacing? Tire sizes?

I know you said you got the moons off summit, but where did you get the trim rings?

I am having a hard time trying to find s10 steelies that I can run caps and rings on. This is the exact look I'm going for, except for whitewall tires.

Re: 51 Chev on a S10 frame, named Dale

Basketcase - the wheels are standard GM 15 inch 7 inches wide, I think the back spacing is 4.5 inches? They are getting harder to find with the 3 'bumps' in them to hold the dog dish cap. (yes they are 5 x 4.75 bolt pattern)

the tires on the front are 205/65/15 and the rears are 215/65/15 , (I think??? I know they are not the same??? sorry)

I bought the trim rings from a vendor at the Ancaster or Rockton Swap meet (can't remember which) he is a real nice guy and is still vending at these shows. (lug nuts, trim rings, spacers, wheel related stuff is all he sells)

I just did a search on the Summit site and see the trim rings are available there.

Hope this helps

Hey Guys,

My daughter asked me if she could use my car (67 Tempest) for her engagement photos. I said sure, but what about the truck?, she said No Thanks.

Oh well, I tried (why is that pic sideways? sorry)

Hey Guys,

Had to run up to my brother's place in the country on the weekend so I took the truck.

It is running great, and I use it whenever I can.

If you are currently in the middle of a project, keep at it, the payoff is well worth ther effort.

Happy Thanksgiving from the 'Great White North'
