Re: What did you do to your truck today part III
Reassembled and reinstalled my Rochester 2G. Went on test drive. Got home successfully on truck power.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III
Dropped the car off at my father-in-laws place. He lives about an hour north of Auckland.
Car isn't road legal, but borrowed my neighbors "dealer" plate which allows me to drive it place to place even though it's not road legal. Was good to get it out on the freeway, drove pretty good! Father in law is going to replace all the brake lines, brake pipes, all 4 drum brakes and master cylinder. Also going to install the driveshaft loop, radiator shroud (getting a custom one made), and hopefully my electrical issues. Will update once done! So close to getting on the road legally! |

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III
I finally figured out that it was this ill placed washer:
was the cause of the intermittent drivetrain shudder and noise I've been chasing down since I got the truck running two years or so ago. Solving that without pulling the transmission back out makes me a happy boy. |

TJ, are those Langdon's cast iron headers you are using? Or are they Clifford?

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III
Removed the 307 yesterday and today installed the 350 I put together for my car. Wanted to swap some stuff on the 307 and figured I'd drop this one in for fun/testing. 10.3:1 compression, Vortec heads, $100 Perf RPM copy intake, 214/224 white box cam. Basically a cheap clone of the 350HP GMPP circle track crate engine with another point of compression.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III
Quote:
I snapped a picture of the driver's side. One shows that the construction isn't very good, as you can see through to the ground in two spots. They both show that the blend from the front of the fender to grille support is off. I don't know if that's because of the fender or the grille/truck. The truck ran into, or had been hit by, some horizontally fixed object just above the bumper on the passenger side, which smashed in the fender, grille support, and grille, and I attempted to pull the grille support back into place. It wouldn't be fair to judge the passenger side. I'll know better once I bolt everything in place.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III
I had the tailgate letters and the area between the the chome on both sides of the truck handpainted in metallic silver today. I think it compliments my chevy tahoe grey interior seats.
