I measured and copied what the 2002 hitch material was, 3/16ths. The 2002 frame that it bolts to seems to be even thinner.

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.

Nice work on the new hitch. It's too cool you plan on using your truck all the time for work. Please be careful! It will be the talk of all the home building industry in Memphis.
I started my project with the same intentions. I don't know if I can follow through after all the blood, sweat and $$$cash I have in it.

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.

WOW! I just discovered this build thread day before yesterday, been reading here and there. I got to page 40 or so before I started jumping around, gonna have to find the time to read the whole thing post by post. Drew, that thing is SPECTACULAR, yes it is the truck GM should have built in the first place. Your vision, skills, and maybe most important, drive, are all on display and looking absolutely stellar! Congratulations on "out building" GM, using one of their best platforms. Like everyone else, I've seen about everything that can be done with these trucks, from totally whacko backyard hacks to megabuck ultra professional versions, and I think yours is right up there with the very, very best. I, for one, can't wait to see the completed truck, and your next project, if there is one. You, and this truck, deserve the recognition of the whole hot rodding world, and a cover on HRM. Very inspiring, to say the least!

It's certainly not my intent to humble anyone, Maybe I should stop photoshopping all the pictures and show everyone all the bad angles???
EVERYONE HERE is definitely a part of it! Thanks for joining the party.

Here's the funny photo of our bedroom. Nobody can pack a room like I can!!! A 3000 square foot homes worth of stuff in our 15 by 20 master bedroom.
Den has already had a small nuclear device detonated today in preparation for the framing crew.

Make sure you do a build thread on your house so we have something to read. Alternate Tinkerings is where my garage build is. I'm sure everyone will want to see your attention to detail on your house also.

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.

Dang, I looked at this thread when you first started and thought this will be a cool build, but for some reason I never subscribed and it drop off my radar. now you've got 117 pages of build and 2911 posts! It really did turn out awesome and I am kind of glad I re found it at the end, this way I did not have to wait for updates.

I served as a missionary in Southern Uganda back in 05 building the African Bible College and it really changed my life and perspective. I'm praying you get this opportunity to go, sounds like you've been on trips.

Just a few pictures of what's up. I'm doing most of the demo, so I haven't touched the truck in over a week.
