Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Went to the quarter car wash today and gave her a bath for the first time in 6 months. Did the best I could to blow off all the crud that use to be hidden by the inner fenders. I’m curious to see how much of the shiny POR-15 remains intact on the control arms and crossmember, but further clean up and detailing will have to wait for better weather. The last picture shows what it looked like before installation many years ago.

Hey Mark have you ever noticed whether or not your truck had run cooler without your front fender wells...?

I haven't had an opportunity to find out yet. We're stuck in a never ending winter and the dozen times I've had it out since I removed them it's been cold or rainy or both. I'm curious myself. It should make a noticeable difference since heat will easily disperse with the amount of ventilation available.

Having driven it mostly in crappy weather, I have been somewhat impressed with the containment of water spray in the rain. Retaining the entire inner fender above the tire, the engine and firewall haven't gotten any dirtier than they did before the side panels were eliminated.

Nice looking truck.

Finally getting paint down on my '62. Interior is done, doors done, top of cab is done in cameo white. Next up is cab, fenders, cowl vent, grill, bumpers, etc., etc.

It's a long haul....

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Removed the windshield, started stripping down the dash. Did a little sanding on the rear fenders. Tried to convince wifey I REALLY need to buy this sweet 56 chevy I found. Guess which thing didn't go over well in the Hill household...

Realizing the hardest part of getting the truck done is getting all parts in at the same time...

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Took the day off to paint the frame while the cab is off at the body shop getting some metal implants.

I'm a little embarrassed showing this picture after seeing the gloriousness of towersgg's newly coated frame.
