Ain't gonna happen. She asked me several times what I wanted. My response "For you to be happy.".

I'll have to say she brought this thing in under budget and it is a much more usable space.

Her painter is coming tomorrow to finish the living and dining room. She was looking for the number to her wrought iron guy while ago. She is going to change all the handrail out to iron.

My wife bought me a .357 S&W stainless revolver 35 years ago and it is unused, still wrapped in the oily paper.

My dad gave my youngest daughter a .little .22 revolver. When she lived in St Petersburg, FL it was stolen when someone broke into her house. When my mother passed, I found another nice stainless S&W .22 revolver in their safe. I gave it to my daughter.

KB I have been doing some moonlighting of my own. WE are building a pool at the kids house in our "spare time". I will get some pics.

Well I got a couple of pics tonight.

The three of us have done everything so far, but we are bringing our concrete crew out to Thursday to plaster the bottom. I want to get this thing done so I can get back on my K10.

How could his grandson help the doctor if he crashed and got injured?

Not sure how he'd help but I do know that there has been more than one occasion that Ive been chasing my son on his bike, the whole time wondering if there was an open space nearby to land to land a medivac for me!!

If I knew that I had a doctor riding with me I likely WOULD jack myself up!

At the local shopping center there's a chiropractor office that has a real nice Ducati in the lobby. The Doc is an avid rider / collector and most Sundays during the summer, as many as 30 - 40 bikes will meet up outside his office before heading out for a ride.

I never really thought much about it but looks like a little work preservation program happening over there!

Re: My Facetruck thread.

I bet you're right! Especially sport bike riders in prone position with their head cocked back to upright. That has to play havoc on the neck vertebrae, discs, and such.

They told me dirt bikes were for riding in the dirt. And that's what I do. I ride myself right into the dirt every time! You know, if you ain't riding hard you ain't ridin' sort of thing. I am careful around objects though. I'd like to think I'd be less aggressive if I ride now. Been years.

Re: My Facetruck thread.

thanks fellas, and with all due respect, bite your tongue Dale

crossing our fingers and everyone is on watch

that's the contractor there in front of the tree, our slab is plain but he's done a lot of really nice work in our neighborhood.. fair pricing and drinks cheap beer

be the weekend before we can dance on it but looking good, major improvement.. and my neighbor is a general, framing specialty.. he said that post had to go so they temped that brace and will clean it up later.. you can see the old beam bracket about 24" from left side.. when they can jack the beam with a temp post, they can level everything with a ledger or brace, whatever looks better.. no idea why the previous builder landed a post that close to the corner of the house

After looking at that pile of wood, I had to sit down and rest.

Re: My Facetruck thread.

Nice work fellers! I don't have any pretty pictures. I had to hand dig a bit more than 50' of foundation under the edge of a slab to a carport I'm closing in. My son helped me on 90% of that. Got the footer inspection on Thursday, formed the foundation up Friday, and poured Monday. "Poured Monday" sounds so simple. Due to various circumstances there was no concrete truck involved. It was mixer, 80# bags, wheelbarrow, & 5 gal. buckets. I spooned that foundation and that is about all I want to say about that whole venture

Had to work with that 16"o.c. deck framing. I considered adding footers and a beam and cutting it back the joists! There was a sandstone vein through there, too. Too soft and would break up by the time you dug around it. Rather than leave it be We had to pick those chunks out of the hole.

I had to tunnel back 4' under each of the two front walls I framed. Fun fun. I am so glad to be done with this foundation.

Here's the dirty end of the job

I love how when you look at a finished job it looks so easy..Like there was nothing to it.
No one will ever understand the amount of labor that was involved.
