Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?
[QUOTE=TheBumbleBeeTruck;6486319]Kinda new here, this is my 1985 3/4 longbed stepside. For you Washington guys, it was a San Juan County service truck. Bought brand new by San Juan County in 1985 in Olympia, spent it's whole life of San Juan/ Orcas, was sold in 2009 at auction, and traveled as far as the neighboring island Decatur, where I spend the summers and bought it from the guy I work for. Just swapped out the 305 for a crate 350. 700R4.
[URL=http://s1330.photobucket.com/user/sanjuanislandss2/media/The%20Bumble%20Bee%20Truck/195_zpsb810e571.jpg.html] Those are some weird looking mirrors, also what headers are those? I'm looking for a good fitting set.

Thank you very much,
eh the mirrors are mis-matched, that's probably why they look wierd. I do not know what brand of headers they are, I just pulled them out of a guys stockpile of parts, and he said they came off of a sb squarebody. |

Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?
Picked this one up last fall. Recovered the seats recently and freshened up the interior a bit, however, the seat covers need a little time in the sun to tighten up.

Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?
They work well, mostly due to having a big block and 4spd standard, an auto and small block won't be so great, done that before..learned a lesson that time. Glad I went from a 14.50" wide tire to a 13.50" width, helps a lot and steers a lot nicer too.

Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?
Our new 82 Silverado C10. Has just 91k original miles, was a garage kept Georgia truck until last month, now it's a garage kept SC truck! Will post pics soon.
It's gonna need a carb and valve seals and some minor stuff. |

Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?
Here's my truck. Just brought her into the family this past December. She's had a good life, but has sat for 2 1/2 years prior to coming home with me. I had been looking for a truck like this and got tired of seeing it sit there... to pretty to let her rust away to nothing.
She's a 1986 GMC C3500 Custom, 454 w/ Quadrajet, 4 speed manual, in bed kingpin (inverted 5th wheel setup, where the trailer has a 5th wheel and the pickup has the kingpin). She's cancer free, tho the clearcoat is starting to peel just a tad. What's everyone think? |

Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?
Pics of my 82 Silverado long bed. It's an all original garage kept truck. Hardly looks like its 32 years old! Everything is original except for the tires, seat cover and paint is about 20 years old.

Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?
Been working on the interior, just replaced the seat cover. The carpet is original 1982 carpet and still looks presentable. It still needs new door panels and a dash cover. The old 8 track still works!

Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?
My dad's 1987 Silverado C-10
350 engine 5 bolt American Racing rims Dual fuel tanks Behind the mini bulk fertilizer tanks, you can see the top of our parts Scottsdale. She didn't want to start today, so I could only get this picture of it It's a 1982 Silverado K-10 6.2 liter diesel 2 tone paint- blue and gray Pretty rusty, but she gets the job done. I love the sound of it starting. Last edited by Eraser475; 03-11-2014 at 06:59 PM. |
