Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread

I had about 6 hours in the garage yesterday !! That was NICE ! here is what i accomplished (without a sheetmetal brake) bent everything by hand ......got to get a brake ! After scrapping my original plan because of room , i somewhat loosely followed N2BILLETS lead on the shroud he made (my feeble attempt anyway) i built the upper braces into the top cover , so i could remove the upper mounts for a smoother look...anyway here are the pics

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread

the bends look nice and straight you just need to grind some of the little tabs that stick out and polish it
if you run some stainless , rubber or plastic edge over the holes they will look a lot better too

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread

that top piece that looks unfinished right in front of the mount will be boxed in and welded up nice, i have that left to do and make the mounts to attach the shroud at the bottom, and also cut down the top rubber mounts it needs to sink down just a little to be flush with the core support at the top .

he is doing good , hobbling along on his cas foot, hopefully this will help get all of the swelling to go down enough where they can get fitted for some support for his shoes

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread

i seen those domes before , you should check out some cheap desklights or halogen transformer covers , you only need to sandblast those and and the three legs on it

or maibe the bottom of some trow away weldinggastanks or a small aluminium cookingpot
