I sold the Caddy shortly after buying it, that car is a $100,000 build kind of car and I am a guy that builds on a much smaller budget ! LOL, I can still get my hands on it and I would LOVE to build it for someone !

Re: Slosh Tubz new company project "Square Peg" frame laying 1987 GMC Jimmy

you probable need to finish the stuff that makes you money first : the trucks youre making slosh tubs for
if you could do the caddy later it might still be an option
maibe you can built it cheaper if you do a rad rod conversion on it , the biggest cost on a full show and shine type build wouldve been the interior and paint because it is such a huge car
matt black , red steel wheels (20 inch dodge?) with some hubcaps and a interior make from alu sheetmatal and old style airplane seats

still be a lot of sanding and doing bodywork to get it intoo shape and a lot of material to fill the interior but its prolly cheaper than upholstery and ou be able to do the paint youreself
if you safe all the older interior you might even do a show and shine type resto later on in the cars life
you could detail the engine with some painted parts and chrome , hiding the wiring , and add some fast stuff later like fuelinjection or one of the newer type motors (hmmmm would a cummins fit in there ?), if you would use a chevy the parts arent that expensive compared to caddy engineparts
come to think of it using a complete dodge truck undercarriage and cummins might work too if the axlewith is close to the same
i heared that trucks that are modified (airride) usually bring less money in sales than stock donors wish might be even better in youre case

Re: Slosh Tubz new company project "Square Peg" frame laying 1987 GMC Jimmy

Thanks ! Finally back to work on her, trying to get her done for March Goodguys at Dallas, started messing with the original hood that we had paneled underneath going to weld up the side edges and get the gaps nice and then paint it . Put another set of gears in the rear end the first set of new 4:11's were howling something terrible. We have some rear 4 link issues to figure out and a transmission leak, install the back glass and hopefully finally actually get to take her for a spin !
