It's not looking good for the spring show. I think I have bitten off more than I can chew with my house remodel.

You should go anyways...you'd win best "under construction" hands down...and it would be poetic

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.

What an entertaining build! I read the entire thread last night after stumbling upon it from another forum - I feel a little tired right now, but I couldn't stop myself. I had to register just to say this - which worked out fine as I was looking for a good Chevy truck forum anyways. Love how the entire family is involved in cars, etc. Looks to me that you have a mighty fine life. I'm sure you've earned it. Great work and I just subscribed, Maestro!

Yes.
The rear brackets are made and bumper is on along with the trailer hitch. I still need to add angled bumper brackets to beef it up even more, but no time now.
Notice how the previous owner made a space for his trailer lights plug. Quality work there buddy.

I also had time tonight to start the rear door quarter windows. I'll mock it up and make a cardboard template and get the glass made. I tweaked the angle as much as I could, but couldn't quite get it parallel to the rear of the door frame.

Nice, Drew. Somehow, I think you will find a way to perfect them. You always seem to work 'the magic!'

I need to section the roof and lean the cab back forward about 7 degrees, weld it all back up, bondo and paint. Nuthin to it but to do it!

Couldn't you just use a floor jack and under the A-arm and jack it up a bit?

Antique car plates installed!

I used a flip down tag holder so I could access the receiver hitch. I'll probably leave the receiver in at all times which will be my version of red light camera "photo blocker".

The cops up here didn't like it when I did that. You might be able to get away with it but it gives them a valid reason to pull you over.

Great work Drew! On my crew I'm going to try to put the fixed piece of glass in front instead of the back but we'll see.

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.

Looks great!! Have you thought of making the back windows a one piece? You could easily create the illusion of having a split window as well!!

If there were a poll for truck of the year, You would have my vote! Remarkable work!!!!

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.

Started tackling the concealed dash panel mount. I need a piece of flat thick plexiglass and weld some studs to the back of this metal to mount it. I will probably cover this in leather.

Hey Drew, how are the clearance issues gonna be behind that gauge cluster?

Just throwin' it out there, what about using another glove box door, notching it to clear the steering column, and having a hidden cluster on the left side? you could make it removeable.

Remarkably it fits just fine on the glove box side. I just want it as backup and for the message center that tells me tons of info on whats going on with the truck. I really want to see the factory 1972 cluster for looks sake.
