Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Trucks
I am assuming to put a boat trailer down a ramp since it would be so hard to see around the camper body. Or could have just been to put a boat in the barn and see what you are doing.

New Guy in Fort Lewis, Wa.
Just got home from my 2nd tour in Iraq last night and the wife told me to get some diapers out of the garage ughhh. Instead, I opened the door to see my new to me '71 C-10!! Been in her family since her Gpa bought it new. Was the workhorse of her dad's landscaping business, but now big blue is going to get some TLC. It stopped raining just long enough for me to take these pics. I love the site so far, and look forward to picking everyone's brains!!

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Trucks
nice start , you deserve it Thanks from all of us, are you going to leave the paint , i think the Patina looks really cool, slam it and put the landscaping logo on the door that would be a pretty cool tribute to her family

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Trucks
Hey, first of all welcome back - you boys make me proud. It looks like you got quite the welcome home gift!
Welcome to the board, everyone here has a little bit different idea of the coolest truck. I like yours quite a bit, and it looks to be in great shape for it's age and the use it's had. Good luck and keep us posted!

Welcome to the forum! Glad to hear that you got back safe. I have much respect for those of you that serve over there. I never got close enough to see Iraq, I was in the Navy and I did spend six months in the Gulf, and three years in the Med. That is awesome that you came home to a surprise like that. Make sure to check out the WA section. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/f...play.php?f=182

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Trucks
Thanks guys, it's great to be home and it's a pleasure to serve. Real quick and then I'll quit hogging this forum. I haven't made in decisions yet on ANYTHING. I like the color but it'll need to be redone whether I change the color or not. I'll probably keep it some shade of blue though. Everything's still so new (read exciting). I need to find a good paint shop/mechanic up this way. I'll go start asking questions in the NW Pacific forum.

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Trucks
You don't need to just post in the NW section. There we post up meets and get-togethers. You will get more response in the 67-72 section for your questions.

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Trucks
Here's my 1970...
If photos don't show, here is the link: http://www.mypowerblock.com/photo/al...ck-restoration I bought this truck in 1995 for $3,000. I drove it once before I decided to tear it apart. Although it ran fine, it was primered, and after watching a season’s worth of PowerBlock Tv, I decided to tear it apart. The vehicle was in nice condition with most new exterior, bumpers, chrome and such. It actually looked pretty good, before I striped it down. I had to put the front suspension back on to push it into the driveway. Here it is, ready to continue taking it apart for paint. With the engine compartment painted, on to the rest of the truck. My friends thought I was crazy for taking a nice running truck all apart. However, the interior was still stock, old, and it looked poor. Reason to restore. The last coats of paint came out very nice. I got most of the parts back on, except for the front end. Getting the engine mostly put back together. Ready for the front body parts. Here is the finished interior, or at least finished for now. I had a real limited budget at the time of this restoration. I still have some odds and ends to do, A/C parts to buy, fuel tank relocation. I didn’t have a chance to take photos of the finished exterior, my truck is still down in So. Cal. Where I used to live. Last edited by HotWheelsFan; 03-11-2010 at 10:26 PM. I agree, that's clean. I especially like the pic from the ground with the rocks in the forefrunt.

It's been awhile since I posted a pic of my truck. Finally finished replacing rust and putting spare tire back on side and a few details plus added a built355 small block.
