Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Installed an almost new Edelbrock 500cfm carb to replace the 750 that was way too large for my 305.

Running great now and hopefully burns less gas!!

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Went to start the truck yesterday and nothing. So today I was doing a little diagnostic work and found the a few of the wires on the plug that goes through the firewall were fraid and broken. Then I spend the next two hours going to all the local parts stores trying to find new connectors with no luck. They just kept sending me on a wild goose chase. Came home and looked through my catalogs and still no luck. NAPA could order them for me but I have to buy a box of 50 for $35. Kinda stuck now. Anybody know where I can find 4 of these.

Try another NAPA nearby- I tried 3 in my area and finally found one that had some in stock, bought 10.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

I can finally post something here! I started cleaning the rear area of my Burb out. I found a ton of magazines, majority of which are still readable. A lot of National Geographic, some Wyoming Wildlife, and some other misc magazines. All from the late 60s to the early 80s. There was even a National Geographic from 1969...the issue from when we landed on the moon. There was some old parts too. Sorry I didn't take pics. I was just trying to make progress.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Replace the rear shocks with a set of old stock monroe magnums. They were originally for the front of a 70-96 g van.Work great with the 5" drop.

Scrapped off 46 years of paint, road grime and undercoating under drivers fender. Fenders are still on truck, scraped by hand, no power tools. Can barley move my right arm but making progress while waiting on parts.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Here are the pictures of everything back from Media Blasting

The Cab - Needs a little work in the floors from setting for so long. It is not bad just needs a little attention.

The Doors - Couple of small dents, no rust at all.

The Hood - Needs a little straightening, no rust at all.

The Cowl - Perfectly straight, no rust at all.

The Fenders - Perfectly Straight, no rust at all.

The Grill - Perfectly Straight, no rust at all.
