Re: Project "What was I Thinking" 68 SWB
Coming along great. Firewall looks so smooth and clean... Really makes me think twice about doing mind or not haha. The white grille would be killer, I don't care how many 68's I see with the white grille and red body or blue or any other stock color combination, I'll always be a fan as it's just so classy.

That's awesome news buddy, really wish I could have done the same with mine. It would have saved me a lot of aggravation and time.

I also finished my fan box this week. Now I'm ready to paint if I ever finish blocking.

Re: Project "What was I Thinking" 68 SWB
Nice progress on the cab Keith, I'm digging the exhaust system too. You'll be surprised how little of the rear of your cab actually shows up when you assemble your truck. Ask me how I know. I spent a ton of time on mine only to find it's almost all hidden by the bed...

Cool exhaust fan idea. I may have to keep that in mind.

That exhaust fan idea is great! I think I am going to copy that. Block work looks good. Just take your time, it is going to all be worth it when the paint is on. Nice truck.

Thanks, it should work out pretty good. We designed it to fit in the garage door opening so I can shut the door down on top of it. Quote:
Thanks, I'm definitely taking my time with the blocking I still have another couple of coats of slicksand to spray and reblock it again. I want it to be as nice as possible.

Re: Project "What was I Thinking" 68 SWB
Thanks Tom, still have a lot of sanding ahead of me but hope to be painting the cab in December. We'll see how it goes
Thanks Ben, sanding definitely sucks Thanks Scott, I procrastinated for a while cause I didn't feel like sanding. I would basically sand for a little bit and then walk away for a week. I've got it going now, besides if I don't do it then it will never get done right

Looking good man, keep at it!

Make sure you don't park that nice new Sierra anywhere near the other side of the door

Re: Project "What was I Thinking" 68 SWB
Yeah that's the plan
Quote:
Yeah the truck will be nowhere near the door. The exhaust port on the box is actually not the big, just a slim window at the bottom to vent. Most of it will be caught inside the box.

Thanks man and I don't blame you. Sanding sucks and I won't be doing this again.
