Cool pics Tim. I can't help but wonder what marina gas prices are these days.

Re: Random Photos ‘You took’

That's what I was thinking looking at the boats. What would it cost to run around in the big blue boat all day? Or any boat for that matter. I always said I'm fine with letting others buy the boat, I'll buy the gas. I'm keeping my mouth shut now!

Re: Random Photos ‘You took’

The one on the right?

I haven't put wheel locks on anything in over 40 years. I came to realize my vehicles are never at risk enough to justify the disadvantages. I've had different issues from different locks that I had the key for. The worst kind were the actual cut key type that locks a smooth shield over the nut that just spins free of the nut itself. Plus, there are only so many keys of any type. Way less variations than ignition/door lock keys. Anyone who is stealthy enough to come out here to steal my wheels would have the keys

A new set of tires, a battery, and fresh gas oughta do it for this truck

you're right on the money.i have some cars,my wife too with nice wheels and not a wheel lock in sight.before i retired from CAA(AAA in the states) i went to help a lady with a brand new VW convertible and a flat tire.i commented on the nice wheels and no wheel locks?she said that's right,i'll never have them again so i asked why.she said the VW was new,her previous car,a Honda Prelude was written off,all because the wheel thieves were around, saw the lock nuts and knew the socket to get them off,was in the car in all likelyhood.they broke in destroyed the door lock, door handle and damaged the door then just for a kicks i guess, destroyed the inside of the car looking for the lock socket, found it and stole the wheels anyway.the estimate to repair the car and all the new interior, was more than the car was worth?she wasn't a fan of lock nuts any longer.

my stepper looked close to that once. changed the fuel pump, took off the rear tires for clearence, which made the front end high, then slid the box back and put the back of it up on a barrel so the fenders wouldn't get broke (fiberglass)
when wife got home she thought i had actually broke the frame and folded the truck...lol

So serene. I was out and about at dust with my son and something about the evening after a real hot day had us commenting on how nice a summer evening it was. About how much we love the summer nights

This one is actually broken in half. It's along the route to where I'm working now and have worked of and on for over five years. Before that to other jobs, too. It's been sitting a long time. It's a plow truck. I remember when it first showed signs of swayback. I noticed it got worse. Didn't work over there till January after not passing by a few years, and now it's broke all the way. It's going to be a real gas hauling that one off, I guess the reason it still sits there

I took a hike along the C&O Canal towpath yesterday. Always a peaceful place to go and being Wednesday made it a special place for only a few people.

The peaceful Potomac River. Notice the Great Heron?

Man, those pics remind me of the mornings I used to get up early and meet the sun on a riverbank. It wasn't nearly important catching fish as it was just being out there enjoying the beauty and peacefulness of it all.

[QUOTE=Chevyland;8599670]I know everyone likes photos on this site
Let’s see what you’ve got
Keep it simple
Only (1) photo per post
And an explanation

It can be truck related
But does not have to be

However
You must be the one who took the shot

This is a photo I took some years ago out the window of our house back in Oregon ,, makes me feel cooled downed some just looking at this as it's been a 100 degrees here for a the last few days.

Re: Random Photos ‘You took’

That's what we all need these days, pictures that bring peaceful good feelings. That picture cools me down, too. On that walk yesterday, a day I thought was going to be like today (low humidity), it got right warm. Not as bad as it could be due to the shade, but I found the best way to cool off without jumping in the river. I didn't have a light to shine back in there, so couldn't be sure any bears had the same idea. I went in just enough to feel the cool air and hung around just a short while. This was right against the canal where water would have run in there. I think it's a mine from after the canal went out of use, or still got used and they dug it to take the minerals out by wheeled vehicle on the towpath. The minerals would have had to go straight into a boat from the mine

Re: Random Photos ‘You took’

I won't subject you all to the 1000 photos I took on my trip to Vancouver Island, but I do have a few I took just for you.

This is one of the nicest SWBs I have seen in person. I managed to get my camera up in time to get these, and also just in time for the driver to see my thumbs up. He gave me a smile. Possibly a member?

Taken in the harbour of Victoria BC Canada...

Re: Random Photos ‘You took’

These were taken in Duncan, BC. I didn't know you could find a truck like this in Canada. I have never seen a truck with original rockers and corners until I saw this one. And it's just being used as a bin for old tires. If this was within 500 miles of where I live I'd have made an offer on it.

Still might anyway, these C20s seem to find me and who cares about driving and winching and trailering and fuel and all the rest anyhow.

Story from old timers here the blacksmith turned storage shed burned in the late 50s . One neighbor who is native and in his 80s said they use to play in it and it was full of tools . He said it "may" have been a an errant cigarette that started the fire
