Got my windshield washers working and put the cowl back on with the wipers all together. Got my helper with me tonight.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

I received a new brake line kit and got it ready to install them on the truck, but noticed something that I need to address. The studs from the brake pedal assembly are getting very corroded, and need replaced. Where can I buy a new brake pedal assembly? All that I can find are just the brake pedal lever, but not the mounting bracket. Thank you for any assistance that you can provide.

I would think that is something you could buy used on the Forum here. You could post a want to buy in the parts for sale section

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

What did I do with my truck, today? I stood there and looked at it wishing it wasn't so damned hot. Day after day it has been in triple digits with heat indexes over 110. This heatwave is unusual, even for us, this time of year. Some cars shows are being cancelled or, times being moved to earlier AM or later PM.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

Got the seat backrest done. I'm trying to figure out how to compress that foam so that I can pull the cover over it and put in the hog rings on the bottom part. I wonder if they use some sort of squeeze machine in the upholstery shop? I need about 5" of "stretch" to get the cover to the back side attachment wires. My brother says to start at the back. Given that I'm not an upholsterer, I'm tempted to ask for mercy at a local shop.

New clutch fan . Old one wasn’t doing a damn thing . Truck is running normal temps again at lower speeds . Highway wasn’t a problem as the fan doesn’t do at that much at 70mph

I believe somewhere I saw that they put the foam in a big plastic bag and used a vacuum to squeeze it down put the cover over and then removed the bag. I think they used powder to ease the removal. Pretty sure this was for bucket seats, but maybe you could figure something our similar

Right on Mark, when I got my old Chevy the valve cover gaskets were leaking so bad it saved things from rusting out, either way it's all good......

Ordered new wiper blades and a washer bottle/pump for a mid 90's S10 with the intentions of getting the wiper/washers functional when it gets cool enough to work in the shop. Also working on stereo system. Maybe end of September.

Bought another set of NOS upper trim to get the one I needed for the bed, installed Wednesday. Today I replaced mufflers and tailpipes.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

Hi All -

A forum member, D.B, wanted some images of the 3M stuff I used under my hood so I needed to pull out my truck from the garage. Which I haven't done since about April. Figured, might as well take my daughter to work today :-)

Of all the things, my daughter noticed old cars turning down a road on FM 1626 in Buda, Texas. I completely missed the car turning in, so on the way back home I checked out what was going on.

Knights of Columbus 2nd Annual Classic Car Show

I love how they painted the Rally's on this C10/CST

I hope they do again next year in the same place, it is pretty awesome where the show is setup. I gave the registering guys my contact stuff, hope they get me their information for next year!

I always enjoy seeing your truck driving in the area. I live in the Hills of Bear Creek and my kids always point out your truck when they see it on 1626. I was there at that car show and saw your truck again that day. It stands out because the two tone color. I always think it is pretty unique and my wife being a UT grad always likes it as well.

Took more than one day. I was worried about getting the headliner in more than getting the seat cover on. I sure had that backwards. New foam and seat cover, new headliner, new dome light housing. It even works! I've never seen it work until a few weeks ago when I put that thing in.

Thanks! I'm really happy with the new upholstery. We'll put a Mexican blanket we bought many years ago over it when the sun is on it. If I had my way it would have been parchment or black and white hounds tooth cloth. That black vinyl is like sitting on a skillet, in hot weather.

My 70 Challenger has a black interior so I know what you mean about how the seats feel after they have been in the sun. My C-10 seat has a Mexican blanket seat cover.
