I know there is lots of good stories about the epoxy stuff but all it takes is one bad tube that didnt quite mix just right or the temp/ moisture wasnt quite right and all your hard work is down the tubes, I learned that one the hard way.... and besides what chemical company knows how time really effects their product for as fast as they are cranking them out... and all their guarantee covers is the cost of the product. just something to think about.

you could ude s combinnation of welding /bolting and the gleu , there a lot of kitcars and fast sportscars here that have nothing but gleu to hold them together the stuff is incredibly strong as in metal tears before bond breaks

I bonded a fiberglass cowl hood scoop to an S10 I had and later totaled the truck in a head on collision. The bonded fiberglass to metal portion never gave. That stuff is strong!

worked last night on braces to "end cap" where the wood will stop under the notch cover , and worked on making some Slosh Tubz filler panels, got the flat sheet metal cut out will bead roll them and bend them and see how they turn out , i think it will look good and hide all of my wiring ..anyway pictures turned out crappy

Another word on panel adhesive, all new trucks are built at the factory using this stuff. The body shops all use it for replacement panels. It has been used for several years. I used it to do my floor pans, gas filler patch, and for covering holes in the cab floor from fuel lines, etc. Did a cab corner also. One of the big advantages, especially for us in the rust belt is that the seam is completely coated and can't get moisture in to start rusting. Welded panels will be have a higher chance to start rusting in the seam or on the back side of it. Shrinkage is minimal. Even your primer coats have shrinkage, it doesn't stop anyone from spraying paint over it the next day. You can't use it for everything, but if you just wanted to band some sheetmetal to a panel for looks, it's a very good option.

I'm using 3m-$50 +- .......If your careful with cleanup U can reuse-gun is expensive-not sure if it's better but this stuff STICKS!!!...jim

I used SEM products. It was available through my local small town parts store and I found a gun for cheap on ebay.

i have them cut out ready to bead roll and bend, but i have been spending my time trying to get this notch cover hinged , first i tried some 80's model truck hood hinges...that didnt work , now i am trying some generic Autoloc trunk hinges working on that tonight, it is driving me crazy i guess my main problem is that i dont fully understand pivot points?? so trying to figure out where to place the hinges is all trial and mostly ERROR !!

Just read about 30 pages of your build...beautiful work, can't wait to see finished project. I'm excited for you. I spent 5 years on my 67' Camaro, only to have it turned into a submarine by Huricane Katrina, lol. Now I'm in the middle of doing my 68' shortbed. Putting the TPI motor together this week. What about Porterbuilts hood hinges or something similar? Grants Customs & Sachse Rod Shops are 2 of the better known hinge options. SRS's actually originally built their hinges for bed covers so the pivot required might be fairly close.
