Agreed, the engine looks great, I couldn't help but notice the 'Princess Auto' box there then realized you're in Canada too.
I don't think I've seen a 12 point bolt on the crank before.

the engine does look great, good ole Princess Auto,i think you can find some of the P/A stuff in just about every car guy's place in this country?don't know where we'd be without them.i bought a box full of those 12 point aircraft bolts at a local war surplus store.i don't use them in anything that requires the correct bolts but they sure are slick on the hot rods and stuff.it would be scary to know what the gov't paid for them originally when you can buy them for a couple bucks a handful at the war surplus store.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

Todays fun . Fixed the brackets and put it back together . Waiting on the new alternator this one the bearing is going and I don’t have the time to rebuild it and it’s a 37 amp model to boot. Never seen this before a red piece of plastic in the oil dipstick . Thought it was orange paint and I boggered it up a little with the wire wheel .

Screen shot from a video of it running shame we can’t upload directly from a phone or computer on this forum . The plastic filter is temporary have a metal one coming. The upper bracket I clamped onto a heavy piece of metal to help avoid any warpage it worked

I'm trying to understand this statement. I don't know of any other way to post pictures except directly from my phone.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

Ned that quarter sawn looks beautiful.

Found why temp gage wasn’t working on the 68 stepper as I retapped the harness . Wasn’t the sender wire was brittle and had green corrosion where it exited the harness . New wire and spliced where it was still good in the harness used solder and heat shrink . I retapped the entire harness mainly looking for other bad wires found none . Took out the leaky heater core and found a huge mouse/chipmunk nest

Finished up the install of the S10 washer bottle and pump. Don’t think the squirters ever worked that good.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

After a few years of running this truck on my own sweat, cussin', and frustration, I got it serviced. Sealed up all the gaskets, replaced the intake, carb, and exhaust manifolds and it hauls a$# now!! Still needs a lot more work, bust she's prettier now.

I take it the original wiper/washer switch doesnt work the pump or does it? I got a 69 so its more a mechanical pump.

The original switch on the wiper/washer runs the new pump. With the hoses no longer running through the firewall there was a perfect pass through for the wiring harness I built plus the fuel level from the rear mounted tank.

The old click clack pump had a sort of timer but this one will run only when you hold the button in. But it squirts way better.

I will check the switch out to see how you wired it. Thanks. I like the idea of the electric pump. And the tank looks like it fits well there too. Thanks again

I did the exact same set up wired to the stock switch. I love it.

Little bummed out . Gathered up the tail lites and one of the backup lites is damaged . I know it wasn’t when I bought it so it must have got bumped around in the storage box .
