It's all looking great. The crew is going to be interesting to watch. We actually got some sprinkles of rain last night.

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd
thanks Dale!
really been on a crew kick last couple of weeks... was seriously going to convert the '77 dually to a crew, but.....revell in all there wisdom did the '77 in 1/24 scale....not really close, lots of cuttin', stretchin'....nope got a email yesterday, now i know where my black stepper i bought is-back at the senders in FLA.....screwed up the address..... and been trying to wrangle Ron at RMR into casting me another crew, with the stepper coming, there's my crew dually only crappy thing is i still need a long stepper in the fleet.... still going to see if i can make another crew out of them junk parts, see if i can do it with just whatever i have kicking around. |

Oh well about the crew but its looking really good as a dually. Nice job not the rear fenders and visor.

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd
thanks dale, them fenders were an ordeal, just getting them, getting them busted, getting them fitted......
got most of the running gear in, some small things to do yet made my own shocks then cut the loop off the stockers & stuck them together, & i used about twice as much tubing as i should have bending up that pass exhaust pipe. same with the d-shafts, made my own & cut the stocker u-joints off & jammed them together. not much left on the body, should be painted in a day or so.... |

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd
getting there Dale!
just waiting for the paint to dry (nuclear green...) while i'm waiting, had 1 extra quad left from my camper crew model, detailed it a bit, will prob go in the back of the ext-cab dually fixed up the raft. was missing a bunch of the ropes, & rope loops, oars, scratched up a motor. made it from a windshield washer tank, air compressor motor, some styrene, & a prop from an old aircraft carrier model. did'nt quite turn out the way i planned, looked like something from the '50's, so printed up some '56 johnson decals & ran with it....this will go on the '77 |

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd
thanks dale, but i tell ya, NOT impressed with the revell re-issue snowplow.....hmmph..
i had planned on getting a few for the 73-87 fleet, but now i dont think so, not even really good for parts, most 73-87's are 1/25 anyways..... this is not looking good-3 days in the stripper & nothing has come off the cameo body yet, dont remember what kind of paint i used, but man oh man, looking like a sanding strip job so....to kill some time while the cameo soaks some more.... started building a crew from some junk. just kinda wingin' it. the sneaky pete cab is a real pia. it's as brittle as a dried out leaf, just touch it lightly & something happens. managed to break it in 3 spots, & crack it in 2 spots. prob why it was so beat up when i got it.... fill in the roof, make some proper pillars, a butt-load of sanding & shaping & i think i'll have a crew. just need a frame now, interior, axles, engine, box, tires..... |

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd
sure was ticking off the wife tonite
she was watching a show & i was running out to my crew every 5 mins.....close the dam door, shut the dam door..... put a roof on my junkpile. spent the night just getting the window shapes & pillars in porportion. with this much bodywork, kiss away the drip rails, window trim & panel lines....before... ...after. i'll sand it down, if it looks alright i'll prime it then start re-adding the trim & lines |

starting to resemble a crew. put some roof ribs, drips, & window frames in. put a splash coat of primer over it to see where i still got to go over it with the sandpaper, then etch in some panel lines.... going threw the junk box, i got a motor & tranny, t-case, the hokey axles off the '77, can scratch a frame up, but i got nothing for a box.....yet |

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd
Cab is coming together pretty nice. That's some tough paint on the Cameo. What do you use that strips the paint and chrome but doesn't attack the plastic?
