That's true Rob great minds think alike.... What tires and what size are the ones mounted on those rallies. I definetly want something that sticks as I am going to do a few passes at the little 1/8th mile track near my house.

, They are Mickey Thompson's ET Street radials, 315 60 15, mounted on an 8" rim. Even with these on, my 68 still won't hook up with the 3.08 gears. I've got a 3.73 rear with a new Auburn posi in it that I'll be putting in in the next week or so. Hopefully that will do the trick, .

Uhmmm.... Increasing the ratio is only going to make that issue worse although spinning both tires will make a difference for sure. Sounds like some suspension tuning is in order.

Re: Al's 71C10 Rebuild

Well lately there has been alot of talk about frenching in the side markers and how they look like goldfish eyes sticking off the sides. I went and found some van markers off one of the clunkers i shipped to the crusher, I had my detail department sand them down and polish the heck out of them I must say they came out pretty good. I have seen other members put them on and never thought much of the look but after all the polishing I said well let me put them on and I kind of like how they sit almost flush to the body..

They came off a 90 chevy van (Clunker) at my dealer. I also got a really nice steering wheel of a 91 chevy 1500 from another clunker which I might put on my truck in the future just for craps and giggles...the rpms in my truck are a bit higher like 2200 @60mph give or take with a turbo 350..I have never had good luck with 700r4 ever....

Re: Al's 71C10 Rebuild

I got a set of rally wheels that I am going to put on my truck for craps and giggles. I posted a want to trade ad so that I can trade two van rallies for two truck reallies as I want to have the staggered look with the rallies as well. I am not putting them on permanently just so that I have the option of swapping wheels anytime I feel like a different look...

Albert, looking good bro! Hey if you come across another set of those 7 inchers or want to get rid of those let me know, I was thinking about doing the same exact thing. I like the tucked look too! You had a set of truck rallies not too long ago didn't you?

I know, you change your mind all the time. You're always keeping the bucket fresh with different looks. That is ok though I like seeing what you come up with. Hey, be sure to post some pics when you get those 7's up front ok?

Haha, I wish I could get bored easily and go get some new wheels and tires! I'm running on tires that are too small and wheels that I bought with my income tax return (which wasn't that much). I can't wait to see the new look on the truck!
