Re: 66 c10 first timer build

When you start to tackle the rust you will have to cut the bottom of the door pillar off because the inner rocker is spot welded to the cab support! And I you have any rust where the wire channel runs between floor and rocker then buy the extended floor pans. Rigs looking good btw!!!

Do you have the link to where you got your radiator, and its dimensions?
I am about to buy one like Coulter got, but I want to make sure I am not making a huge mistake.
I am looking at this:

KMJ Performance

19 X 26" Universal fit Race Pro Aluminum Radiator. This is a GM style with 1 1/2" top filler neck and 1 3/4" bottom filler neck. This is a 2 row radiator with 1" Dual tubes. Tanks are 3" wide. Radiator has no Epoxy and is 100% Tig Welded.

Thanks man

Re: 66 c10 first timer build

Mcmurphy, you can check them out at championradiator.com it's year specific,3 row, and cools up to 700hp. A lil over kill but what ever. There pretty good quality. I'm happy with it. I know it's not running yet but as far as fit and look it's good. Also has the trans cooler on bottom but I just capped it cuase I want a separate cooler for the trans. Not at home right now so don't have exact measurements but they will on website.

Re: 66 c10 first timer build

I just bought one of those from Champion for my LT-1, as I had a great mishap last week. I had made all of the adaptations to fit the 96 Camaro radiator into my radiator support...Then while searching through boxes of parts on the mezzanine of my Dad's barn, I totally knocked my radiator off the edge, falling onto the box of my truck & crashing to the ground...Got the new radiator & looks great, but still gotta fix my truck box...

you need to take rear cover off count the number of teeth in the bigger gear then count the number of teeth in the pinion gear mark one tooth on each gear so u wont screw up.then divide the two and that should give you the gear ratio.by the way the bigger number into smaller one hope that helps fellas

Re: 66 c10 first timer build

Does anybody know if the yolk on the stock drive shaft will fit the 700r4? It's at my dad's so it will be a while before I can check. Also this might be a dumb question but when I install drive shaft do I need to make sure the trans is all hooked up as in the shifter and all just to make sure it's in park and it don't try to run us over. Still learning guys so thanks so far on all the advice

Frame and motor are lookin sharp.
Not sure about the yolk. The radiator overflow..... I asked the same question for my white '67 Camaro. People asked, "what can you afford?" and "how much room do you have"?
