Re: 1969 Camaro "Yenko" Clone
I just saw this thread...awesome build.
I would have let it ALL METAL and sealed it with a clear coat. It looked awesome in raw steel with no filler. |

opps, hit caps lock. Well, I do it myself, I place the rear of it to the car and bolt it on. once that is done I lift the front up with a jack and 4x4 so no tippy, then place jack stands under it and then place the front halve of the rotery and bolt it on, then we are goood to go, it takes me about an hour to do it, ut I am able to do it myself.

I agree, the bare metal pic would be sweet! Oh well, I'm sure you'll have more chances with other projects later on!

Re: 1969 Camaro "Yenko" Clone
Well, I rolled one fender lip tonite and just had to see how some rims looked sitting in the wheel well. OMG!!!!! I love it. The final ride height is one inch higher yet, but the rim size and tires are bang on. such HOTNESS!!! Just to let you all know, unfortanately these are not the rims for this car, I ordered them for a friends 56 Bel Air, but I still had to see what they looked like under the Camaro, Not too shabby I may say.

Re: 1969 Camaro "Yenko" Clone
Well my friend called me just now and he said he went out the body shop where my car is and it finally has some color! i will start a different thread so I'm not ruining yours. I took some shots of it in the paint booth this morning and I'll get some before we start the assembly of it.

Re: 1969 Camaro "Yenko" Clone
Ok, so to start off, it has been doin nothing but raining here for the last week or two, we have had a ton of rain, and has been hard to get the parts out for primer and powdercoat, so the last bit I have been finishing up sandblasting all the little parts and getting that done, man was there ever alot of pieces, hours and hours worth. oh well. After that i got the rest done for powder coating, man it is going great everything is getting done!!!! I finished up the the throttle pedal and modified it for the linkage, got the heater box modded for the firewall mod, everything is awesome.
Friday was the day to get some parts to the body shop for paint and primer, then I had to meet up with the powdercoated as everything was going to north battleford for this process. This place is about 1.5hrs away. Anyways I currently do not have a truck so I went and borrowed a friends truck thursday nite, at 11 that nite i figured I would try the lights out, NOTHING WORKED!!!! So that morning I ph'd another friend to borow his truck, no problem, went with the one truck and got another one. Then went over to my brothers and got the enclosed trailer, got everything hooked up and pulled away. well that did not work, the brakes locked up and I drug the trailer. SO I ran to my brothers work place with this trucka and grabbed my brothers avalanche. Went back and away we go, FINAY after 2 hours had the trailer ready to rock. Problem on truck one, no lights, truks two problem, no trailer brake control, and finally the rest was history once we got the third truck. So after a day of screwing around, I got around to returning 2 of the trucks. I returned the 2nd truck and sat down with him and had a beer, well, i went to leave and return the 1st truck and reached into my pocket for the keys, HA. NO KEYS, somewhere along the path during that day I lost the keys for the truck OOPS!!!!! I ph'd my bud and he did nothing but laugh at me. so I guess tomorrow night we have to either find a key for it at his parents house or we hot wire it, one of the two. All in all it was an interesting day and turned out kinda funny in the end. Anyways sorry for the rant and on to pics. BTW THANKS TYLER, JASON AND MY BROTHER JASON FOR THE USE OF THE TRUCKS. Ans sorry for the keys tyler. On to pics.

Re: 1969 Camaro "Yenko" Clone
haha, lost keys always make for a good time. i had a similar story taking my old mustang to the track, my truck didnt have the electric brake control for the trailer so we borrowed a buddys. he left the keys in the mailbox, only problem was he left the wrong keys haha. had to drive to his work, grab keys to the house, go inside grab the right keys, return his keys to him and it was off to the track.
good to hear its all comin together! cant wait for final assembly!!! |

Re: 1969 Camaro "Yenko" Clone
Well, I had to take a bit of a Hiatus from the car, and now back to her! A bunch of the parts fdor the car have already been primed and will be getting jambed in the next day or two, the powder coating should be done tomorow, and I got a few little things touched up, and the floor finally has some Al's Liner on it. Cha Ching. That feels good. Great product I might add. definetly glad I became a dealer for it up here. Anyways, more pics at the end of the weekend.
Sorry I have not been on the site much lately, just trying to get some things done.
