Re: Ran 11.44 @117.69mph
It's not so much eye level as being able to just look down. The OEM guy's pretty much had it right. The 3 guages I look at most are Tranny temp, oil pressure and water temp.

Re: Ran 11.44 @117.69mph
man now i am really in a fix.. i dont no were i want them. the reason i didnt want to put them in the orginal place. is cause of seat and wheel placement. here is a view with th smaller wheel held in place. reason for smaller wheel is to get in and out more easily. as you can see there wont be much to look at through the wheel. this is driving me

Re: Ran 11.44 @117.69mph
after looking at mine...they are lower than where you want to put them....if mine were higher they would be OK.
BTW..after stinking it up yesterday at the track...I runnered up today. Breaking out by .007 Oh yea, I raised my ladder bars 1 hole and it lowered my 60 foot times by a full tenth....and lifted the front wheels on every pass

Re: Ran 11.44 @117.69mph
I think we need a match race , big jim vs 71dragtruck . Do ya think Spokane is about half way .
I raced last nite , Spokane Pro Gas event , plus about 30 hot rodded Diesel pickups , way too many cars , didn't even race till 9:30 , took the win , although we both broke out , ran my best ever 60ft , 1.98 . Not exactly where y'all are at , but my best. Have you guys seen those Diesels run ?? OMG . There nuts . Still thinking about NOS , how consistent is it ?? Later .......................................... 409.

Re: Ran 11.44 @117.69mph
I think Jim needs to update his signature, pretty sure that's not his best anymore. I have alot of tuning to do yet, Want to run around the 10.6's. I wish I was closer though, would love to run with you guy's would make for a fun weekend of racing and bull$hitting that's for sure. Your getting faster all the time there 409, I also think it's time for you to strap on the bottle.

Re: Ran 11.44 @117.69mph
I'm not running any N20 right now. Trying to win the points deal. As far as N20 being consistant? Well it can be. The guy's who bracket race with it usually only make one pass out of a full bottle.

Re: Ran 11.44 @117.69mph
Ya I know, even funnier, there were only about 4 people in the stands also, by the next round when I was off the bottle, they were 3/4's full. I think it's your and Jim's turn for some video, a little less trailer and you could have hired a film crew.

Re: Ran 11.44 @117.69mph
No racing here...I put the aluminum bed cover on.
A few months ago I broke the rear caliper off at the top end and lock them up hard. I fixed the caliper...I thought...After breakin out in the finals a couple of weeks ago, I was PO and drove up to the tower to get my check, I shut the motor off and coasted to a stop. Well it didn't take long to stop. I heard a grinding noise and it stoped abruptly. The caliper was digging into the wheel. I couldn't even spin the rears over by hand while jacked up. I have fixed it(temporarily) and it spins easy. I can't wait to see the times with the cover and with out the breaks on. I will have the video camera this Saturday...so I'll post some videos.

Re: Ran 11.44 @117.69mph
This sounds a little scary! What kind of rear brakes do you have and what's temporary about the repair! We don't want crash video's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Ran 11.44 @117.69mph
LOL...I removed the caliper and bracket completely. I ran it this way when it originally broke. It stops str8 as can be. Just 75% braking power. It still head and shoulders above the old drum set up.
The calipers are off of a 87 seville. I have to find one in the junk yard to get the bracket.
