Re: '67 step-side replacement rear bumper
Well, I'm trying to figure if driving out there to get her or having her shipped would be best. It will cost me the same either way... hmmmm.... (about a grand)
Will this never end? I'm hoping to have it back by next week or shortly thereafter! D

Re: '67 step-side replacement rear bumper
Ok, the decision has been made. I am going to have her shipped here. I figure that the 4-5 days I will need to take off won't be worth the trip.
The countdown has commenced... I hope to have the truck here by next week. D

Re: '67 step-side replacement rear bumper
Bump... oops... sorry. Something that I am going to have to figure out when the truck gets here in the next day or two is exactly what motor do I have?
You see, I was told that when I got the truck, the PO had put in a 1985 Buick 305 in it. All and dandy, but however, the block is def a Chevrolet block... (Found that out when I got my 700R4) So if it is a 305 then it is a Chevrolet 305, but then again, it could be a 307, 327, 350??? Who knows? I'll check out the block numbers as soon as I get her home. Tick...tick...tick... D

Re: '67 step-side replacement rear bumper
'Twas the night before the weekend, when all through the shop
not a creature was stirring, not even a cop. The decals were hung by the wall board with care, in hopes that the delivery man would soon be there. The techs were nestled all snug in their work areas, while visions of thier paychecks danced in their heads. And the manager in his overalls, and I in my cap, had just settled our brains for a long nightmare task. When out on the street there arose such a clatter, I sprang from my work area to see what was the matter. Away to the window I flew like a flash, tore open the baydoor, and threw up the barrier. The sun on the floor of the new-spillin oil gave the lustre of midday to objects aglow, when, what to my wondering eyes should appear, but a beautiful semi truck powered by 8 huge cycinders. With a tall lanky old driver, so lively and quick, I knew in a moment it must be Mr Langkang. More rapid than eagles, his coursers they came, and he whistled and shouted and called out my name... "Hey boy, this here your truck? Get yerself over here and pay me so I can get on my way..." Ok, sorry about that... Truck got delivered today. I used Uship, very good website to use and met Gene Langkang. Very professional and fun to talk too. Beautiful rig as well... I didn't want to post closeups of the truck until after a good long bath, this thing has been in storage for 4 months. Talk to you tomorrow! Don

Re: '67 step-side replacement rear bumper
Hey all, got the truck all cleaned up and found out that Little Anthony's Diner had a classic car show going on tonight, so I took her over there, drank a few beers and enjoyed the evening. Unfortunately, there were not too many nice Chevrolet trucks at the show, mostly cars... so enjoy the pics of my truck!
Later, D

COOL! The truck looks good out in the AZ sun. I think I had lunch at that diner last summer.

I went to the "old car" swap meet at SIR (Southwestern International Raceway) today and found a guy who was selling repop bumpers for old cars and trucks... get the idea??? He was selling a rear bumber to a guy for a fleetside '67-'72 and I asked him if he had one for a stepside... "Nope.. sold that yesterday... got $110 for it...." Aaarrrruuggghhhh.... Will I ever get to change the name of my build page??? D
