Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"
3/4 ton had about a 7'' diameter on the back and 1/2 ton is about 10'' inches 1/2 ton uses nubs on steel wheels and pushes over those. 3/4 ton has a ring around the back which goes into the hub area of the rim and pushes over 3 or 4 clips. becuase of this ring on 3/4 ton hubcaps, it makes it 7'' inches in diameter and impossible to use for a 1/2 ton rim.

Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"
ok was actually busy on the 67 today... problems before today: passenger door was hitting the fender right at the lower body line with the trim, sill plates not installed no wire hot wire to the distributor, driver door wasnt adjusted well, door jambs were dirty cab door latch mechanisms were rusty and not painted since 67 so today I:
drilled the three holes in the tin for the tach to screw into cleaned the door jambs and installed new ( not new but ones from my other 67 cab that i cleaned and painted a while ago) cab door latch mechanisms ( for lack of a better term) adjusted the passenger door had to take the passenger door off to adjust the hinges so i sanded the door where the hinges bolt and primered and painted. screwed the sill plates through the new carpet into the floor nicley. installed the plenum valve?? into the cowl sanded primered and painted the fresh air vent for the passenger side. and now time for pictures and less talky talky lol |

Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"
well i finally figured out what i did wrong to the shifting linkage..... MAN AM I STUPID!!!!!! i put the transmission manual lever on backwards.... so now i put it on right and its shifting beautifully!!!! its perfect! also a buddy of mine races stock cars and stuff so he came by and told me that what wire i have to run to the distributor and how i run it and what gauge wire it should be, so i ran the wire and now i just need to put a battery in and start it up and see if she'll fire up! also started body work on the passenger bed side... fun stuff also got the screws for the sun visor hooks and got the plugs for the 3 point seat belt hole.

Wait, is that an air pressure gauage next to your oil pressure gauge?

Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"
ok so ive done some things to the 67, i have installed the cigarette lighter/light wire i have cleaned up the wiring and retped the engine harness with new electrical tape. ive gotten the 3 point seat belt plugs for both sides, and ive bent and modified bed braces to work for my fleetside... for some reason i cant ever find wood floor fleet side ones.... so now the passenger bed side is looking way better.. still very $hitty . i have also made a little dude out of some engine parts just for fun just a nice desk ornament

Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"
well i have some pictures of what i have all done to the 67 latley.
on a side note i have being shipped to me, 75 corvette spark plug wires, so now i can start it up with out having to worry about my spark plugs wires getting fired because there touching the ram horns so i will get those tomorrow morning and install those. and then i should just be that much closer to driving it! so if anyone is wondering what is stopping me still, its: registration and getting a title, the front and rear windows not in and its the exhaust. other then that.... im road worthy. my brakes need a little attention... i honestly dont know really whats up with them.... i think i may need to put teflon tape where they connect to the propeortionung valve.... somewhere somehow its pissing brake fluid on my inner fender and its quite irritating i also checked the oil, its good but it says add a quart, while i was messing with the dipstick i decided to paint the dipstick handle chevy engine orange and the stem semi gloss black... also i installed the A/C canister on the radiator support. enough jibber jabber here are some pics |
