i dunno? i had just thought of it the other day when i seen the esky's reservoir on the side of the house. i have seen swaps where guys used it and even kept the little steam line that runs to it. just wondering is all...

On the new trucks, the reservoir is where the radiator cap is, and it is pressurized. Using the original '86 radiator, it might not be an issue. WWBD (what would Bob do)?

The reservoir on the donor was not where the cap is and was not pressurized. Had the cap on the radiator. I will be using the stock radiator and overflow bottle from the 86.

The truck's original radiator, overflow tank, trans cooler lines to the original trans cooler, and the steam line to the radiator.

Mcbassin made a barbed adapter for me to run the steam hose to the heater hose nipple on the radiator. Works perfect!

The Jags That Run website sells a slick ventable machined piece that splices in to the upper radiator hose that the steam hose attaches to.

This isn't the one Mcbassin made, this was my first attempt, but it gives you the idea.

Got the cable yesterday Dennis. Thanks alot buddy! 1 million imaginary rep points to you my friend. I was able to use the plastic clip like I thought I would and everything worked out great. I now have the Lokar throttle cable hooked up and had enough time to get the Lokar shifter linkage installed as well. Just harness, fuel tanks, and driveshaft and it'll finally be on the road again.

Turns out the driveshaft will fit perfect. 55 1/2 inches on the dot. Just as I measured. Talk about lucky. So, new u-joint for the rear and a conversion
u-joint in the front to hook up the huge yoke for the 4l80e and it'll be close to running again.

so remind me, what adapter plates did you use. i bought mine from the guy on ebay that someone on here recommended.

I bought the adapter plates from a guy on ebay too. Dennis, the driveshaft will be different lengths based on wether you originally had a turbo 350 short tailshaft, turbo 350 long tailshaft, turbo 400, 700r4, etc... Mine originally had a th350c with a long tailshaft if I remember corectly. I just got lucky I guess.

Got the driveshaft in last night and it fit great. I used a conversion u-joint to fit the 4l80e yoke to the c10 driveshaft. Precision u-joint number 447. Could also be listed as R882328 if anyone else needs the joint. Also got the bed off so I can do the tanks and clean and paint the frame. Stepped inside to call a buddy to come help lift the bed and when I came back out I found my little man helping tear the truck apart.
