Re: Brother's keeper - '58 Stepside build
Some more progress pics. I was supposed to pick up my truck tonight but begged off until tomorrow evening. I hope it stops raining by then.
Sunday I got my hardware sorted so it's ready for the reassembly. I got some nice billet fender washers from Eddies Motorsports, they fit the bolts perfectly so everything will be concentric when the fenders go on. The front bumper was cleaned up inside and out so it will be ready when the time comes. I also gave the inside of the rear fenders a couple coats of SEM bed liner to help protect the sheetmetal from rocks, etc... |

Show season is pretty much over by early October. I will be content to drive it before we get snow.

Re: Brother's keeper - '58 Stepside build
Mark,
Did you make or have made the bed roll caps? I bought polished caps from Mar-K and I like them but I’ interested in yours too. Everything’s looking sharp.

Re: Brother's keeper - '58 Stepside build
I slipped some poly pads between the box and frame rail then squared the box to the frame and cab. I got the step and fender hung on the driver's side before the mosquitos drove me out. I'll have to put the fender braces on and snug everything up tomorrow. I'm hoping to get the back half done this weekend, then I'll turn the truck around and start on the front.

Re: Brother's keeper - '58 Stepside build
The fenders, braces, steps, etc... are all assembled, the rear bumper is back in place and the rear lighting installed. The rest of the day was spent cleaning dust and overspray in the engine compartment. When that's done I can start putting the front clip on.

Re: Brother's keeper - '58 Stepside build
Monday night I got the wiper linkage, shaved cowl panel and wiper bezels installed.
The glass guy has a lot on his plate so he can't come out to do the windshield and back glass until a week from Saturday. I really don't want to put the front clip on until the glass is in but there's plenty to do in the meantime... Last edited by Black_Sheep; 08-28-2018 at 10:04 PM. |

Re: Brother's keeper - '58 Stepside build
In another thread you showed a picture of your kick panels. I didn't want to side track it by asking there, so I am going to ask here. How did you attach the kick panels to the truck?
