Re: Post "Your" 4x4 pic here..........
out here in holland we pay i believe 20 percent alcotax and 19 percent normal tax on top of the price i think it depens on the amount of alcohol there is in the beverage and 100 % pure alco it isnt available in large quantities only in modelstores mixed with nitrous for modelcars and planes last time i checked it was 3 times the price of normal fuel .
the injection system looks interesting though i like to learn more about it does it work like stationairy/full trottle or is it more docile than that

It's pretty forgiving. I can drive around the the pits with no problem. Would'nt think it be all that good for street use. It likes to load up when idling or low rpm because is mechanical. I think the "model" fuel you are speaking of is nitromethaine, I run methanol in this system.

Re: Post "Your" 4x4 pic here..........
Thanks dirty. They look a little questionable (parallel to the ground is best) but not extremely concerning since you don't do any serious off-roading. I think as long as you got an alignment after your crank, you should be good.
I really wanted to do this as well but since I've already cranked 1 inch just to get it leveled out, I'm worried trying to go another 2 inches (after the blocks, gonna need to keep it leveld) my lower ball joints will cry and break apart on me. Going just one more inch might be safer, but I doubt it'll really be worth it. Thanks again for all the pics, you really got me thinking about what else I can (and want) to do with my truck.

That's awesome stellarmishap. I see you have the bed installed higher than the cab and front clip to get the wheel wells even. Did you have to do anything else to the frame or the body to get it all together?

Re: Post "Your" 4x4 pic here..........
Thanks, guys!
The frame had to be lengthened a foot, otherwise went pretty easy, considering.

Re: Post "Your" 4x4 pic here..........
Thanks Yukon,
Not my first time round on restorations (first 72 GMC) and I am old enough to listen to the vets regarding these things. I came across this truck and within 1 second knew I had to keep it. Have had some tell me right off the bat to get the tank out of the cab for safety. Makes sense, but then again it has 2 outboard tanks between the frame and bed also. Do those need to go? Probably not. Just polling her to see what the educated are doing. The sloshing fuel reminds me of camping with my uncle when I was a kid. Huge smile on a low tank! I like that. Safety is my main concern (in a safety concerned new-world). I will post more pics inside etc soon. This thing is a riot! |

Oh man, this makes me yearn for my '63. I've had to put the project on the slow track due to starting a family. Please post progress pics Live Rust.
