Re: Project "Funky Monkey"

OK I am bummed, living out on the left coast I am three hours behind you guys and I missed everything. I am looking at a dark garage. Looks like it was fun though.
This is cool, maybe you can create a thread detailing this sort of camera setup so some of us technically challenged type can do something like this.

Re: Project "Funky Monkey"

I thought it would be fun for you guys to watch. It wasnt really hard to setup, but I have a technical background and the equipment to do it.

At one point last night we had 8 viewers on all at once.

Hey Brian, 11 pages so far, pretty sweet chassis build. I know how things slow down with kids in your life, I've got 2 boys that play baseball about 8 months out of the year and have been at it for 6 years now. I work on my toys around their schedule but wouldn't have it any other way. keep working I'll be watching.

The camera is a Cisco PVC-300 PTZ IP Cam. Its really nice and great quality. Other stuff behind that is an ASA-5505 firewall and a POE switch to power the cameras.

My goal is to have everything done by the end of the month! We will see how that goes. I am actually taking a week off of work to finish the truck. The wife is going on vataion with her family and she is taking the baby so WOO HOO for me!!!. Plenty of time to work on my truck with NO interruptions. Its going to be a wonderful week... I may just sleep in my truck.

Re: Project "Funky Monkey"

Well that's to have it back on the road. Then I can start working on the body. The motor should be done by the end of the week. Going to pick up a stub kit and valve covers at summit now so heads should be on it tonight

Thanks... I was pretty proud of it. Im having a little problem with the push rods. Hopefully I can figure that one out and actually mount everything down then start putting together the serpentine belt setup. Then finish the plumbing on the frame, and start moving the body over.

I disconnected it from the free world. I will have it back up soon, there was a ton of dead time so I turned it off.

Re: Project "Funky Monkey"

What I want to know is how do you keep your shop so clean? I've got tools and parts all over the place, it is not that I am messy but rather there is just no place to put all the parts when it is all apart, is your dinning room table full of engine parts or do you have another garage on the other side of the wall?

hahah... funny you say that. My drivers door, bumpers and other misc stuff are in my office. And every day after we get done working I spend about an hour cleaning and thinking about what I am going to do next.
