Well, theirs an ALL Chevy get-together at De Anza College.....it's put on by Golden State Novas....supposeabily 13 or 14th annual. Open to any and all CHEVYS...would like to show off the chassis there...running of course. Would love to grab that throttle linkage and rap that LS7 a few times !! Anyway, as far as the harness, we are running a super simple harness that came with the engine.....simple 5-wire hook up, with built in pump and fan relays. I only have a pic of the tiny ECM.... - - - - For reference, that yellow stripe on the floor is 4" - -

Re: Crewcab build
Wow, that is sweet!
I'm in the middle of tearing into my harness, and I have to determine what does what, what needs to stay, and what needs to go. I'm hoping to have the whole thing back together by later today, I'll post some pics as I'm going through it. My friends dad supossedly has all of the factory service manuals for the 99-03 chevy 5.3 trucks, I'm going to try to get ahold of them later and really dive into this! De Anza huh? I had no idea that there was a show there next weekend, maybe I'll have to go check it out. |

Re: Crewcab build
Here are some rough cel phone pics of what I got accomplished today, New rockers installed, new door post is taking shape, and I stripped my front door to check for bondo under the paint-I wanted to check I was going to a metal edge on all of my final measurements, not a pile of mud.
I'll try to make it down to my shop to get some better pictures with my regular camera, and I'll try to do a step by step of replacing the other side rocker. |

Re: Crewcab build
looking good!
looks like 3 cabs, and 6 doors would be a good place to start if I ever do one. I like the way the latch/pillar/rocker are turning out. |

Re: Crewcab build
Hey guys, it's been a while since I have had time to work on this thing, work just keeps getting in the way! Anyway, I may be doing something a little different with the doors, but need to see how you can seal two glass edges together. I'll keep updating as i go along, if this new idea for the doors works, it will save me weeks of fab work! Thanks for the interest!

Re: Crewcab build
Look at any # of 50's and 60's 2 and 4 door hardtops for sealing glass edges, I think by the 70's they might have even gotten away from metal framed glass on the 4 door hardtops

Re: Crewcab build
How do they grab the doors to lock them in? Is there just a short post that only goes up between the doors to the window edge? I've been trying to check out cars at the junkyard, but 4 door hardtops not so easy to find!

Can't get over how small my garage was before the re-model. Anyway there's a support that goes up behind the doors with the strikers and then becomes the thin chrome piece between the windows as it goes up to the roof.. I'll go out after work tomorrow and get a door open picture. Josh
