Re: How about some pics of bagged 47-59
This is my first post, love the trucks on here. This is my 56, not nearly as clean a most on here, but my kind of rat rod bagged tri five. Body is mounted, bed is just sitting there. It's on a 96 s10 bagged frame stretched and widened. Planning to put a 12 valve cummins and a 5 speed in it soon. Here's a couple of pics.

You can totally slam on the original frame. Seen it many times. My new frame will be nearly slammed (1" from running boards to the ground) when totally aired out.

Re: How about some pics of bagged 47-59
Now that my truck is 99% complete, I decided to take some more pics. It is all cleaned up. Heading to a small car show in the morning with my youngest son.

Re: How about some pics of bagged 47-59
young rodder - You know I LOVE LOVE LOVE your truck, right? I only make this comment looking for any small thing that MIGHT improve it.
Have you considered either polished alternator and AC compressor, OR gloss black powder coat them? I think it might be a dress-up improvement. Absolutely NO criticism of your totally *****in truck meant. |

No worries. Yes, at some point I might get back into the engine compartment and clean/change somethings. I can tell you I'm more apt to go away from shinny parts at this point. My friend just build a serious pro touring Nova with an LS7 motor and his engine bay is all black. I really like this look. I won't take mine this far but I would like to incorporate more black into the engine bay. At times I think my truck has too many shinny parts on it as it is. That is also why I didn't continue the theme in the engine bay. Marc

Re: How about some pics of bagged 47-59
What do you guys do about gas tanks when dropping when you drop trucks that low? I've got to get rid of the tank in the cab of my '57 and it looks like the aftermarket tanks hang pretty low. Move the floor up and the tank with it?

I would ask other people with 55-57 trucks to see what they used. Good luck Marc

Re: How about some pics of bagged 47-59
thanks, maybe ill get to it soon
skymangs I think it looks killer just the way it is! well, maybe some headlights... thanks to you also. headlights are overrated lol jk well I have done a little bit of pant work just to get rid of that awful red, and taken it back to the factory green with distressing to make it match the driver side. Kinda stuck on what to do to it at the moment. The frame thats underneath it is pretty hacked, so i bought another truck that is basically trashed on the outside but I could swap the frame on. Other option is just scratch build a frame with a mustang II front and bagged. Im still up in the air on having it bagged because of past bad experiences, but I have a friend that I trust to do it right and he does good quality work. So who knows at this point |
