Re: Any other projects in your garage?
I have a few more pics of this car. It's got a straight 8 for an engine, not sure what the transmission is. The hood ornament is missing, as well as most of the chrome on the front bumper is peeling. I offered the guy 500 with a tow to the city, but he's not budging on 550 with a tow. The worst spot of rust is on the drivers quarter but it would not be too hard to replace. There are a few spots on the the rockers and under the trunk lid there is a bit of rust through as well:

Re: Any other projects in your garage?
I managed to pick up this car tonight, it's been a long night. Had to yank the car off of the guys trailer as the tires are all shot and one is missing. Now I know this section is about 60-66 GM trucks but I just have one question for anybody who would know the answer:
Where is the vin plate for these cars? I checked just in the door jams tonight. I just need to find the vin so I can complete the bill of sale for a new title. Thanks! Where she sits now: |

Re: Any other projects in your garage?
Wow, even a Pontiac dashboard. All of the stainless looks to be in great shape. I'm sure there are some 53-54 Chevy guys that would love to have that quarter panel trim. Thanks for sharing the pictures. Once again I've learned something new.

Re: Any other projects in your garage?
i have a few....
first is my 69 jeepster commando that is undergoing another overhauling. i've got a buick GS350/th400/dana20 drivetrain in it. currently i'm building up a HPd44 and a 14bolt rear with arb so i can rest my beast on 40"s . also i'll be fabbing a link suspension all the way around and a cage and chopping off anything that rubs.... as it sits in the pics it's sprung over ~7" lift on 33s. and it's now coated with a yellow bedliner this is my '71 wagoneer that's driven by amc 401 .30 over, alum intake, holley t.a., msd ignition and offroad revlimiter/t19/dana20 train with a mild lift as it's really just my family camping/towing/going to work rig. no major plans for it because it's pretty awesome the way it is. however, trans is currently sitting on a jack until i get a friend to help me dock it back up tomorrow. who knows though, when it's time to rebuild who knows, currently laws prohibit me from putting in a cummins...oh, and it looks way better with the tinted windows lol. and this...we'll just have to see what i've got up my sleeve with this... and yeah...i nerd it up, so here's one of my rc cars...i'm also building a 1:24 scale of my 64 but haven't even gotten the model out of the box to begin building.

Re: Any other projects in your garage?
Here's my daily driver, not much of a project:
I also have a 69 Superbee project that needs a ton of work and an 87 325 bimmer with a turbo kit waiting to be installed. Neither are much to look at lol |

Re: Any other projects in your garage?
Since your case is essentially a 54 Chevy with some Pontiac touches, the information on the following link probably applies, unless the Canadian cars were identified differently:

Re: Any other projects in your garage?
It's too bad my heart and my wallet are not in the same place...
There are so many beautiful 60's and 70's muscle cars on here. That is where my passion has always been, I've just never had the pocketbook to follow it. Here is a pic of my 1979 Camaro: My shop showing again my '79, my wife's hot rod; a 1994 Firebird Formula, and the 1984 Z28 I traded for the '65 Chevy C-10. Since the '84 Z was free, I guess the C-10 was free too. This pic was a couple days before the trade: Wife's dd, 2007 Lexus IS 350: My dd until the '65 is done, a 2003 Ford Ranger Edge: Last edited by fryer1979; 05-11-2010 at 01:39 PM. |

Here's my '66 Dart GT I recently finished. It sat locked in a barn for over twenty years and was light blue.............not my son, the car.

Re: Any other projects in your garage?
Technically, not in the garage, but on my work counter, it's why I haven't got much work done lately on the truck. I've got orders for 5 different models all to be completed by August/Sept.
This one is the Imai "Santa Maria" 1/60th. scale about 2' long, the model has been long out of production and is a plastic, the trick is in the oil based paints and washes. The next model up is a 1/32nd. Flying Sub.
