Re: 72 2wd Blazer: Project "Break Me"
We figured about the time we replaced the compressor the motor would go out. This thing is 5 years old and it on it's 3rd resto so we cannot complain. My old man found a new 2 stage, 80 gal, 5hp that a guy bought and never hooked it up and now needs Christmas money for $600 so I think we are going to get it Sat. We went to a auction this past Sat and there were 2 old 60 gal compressors that didn't even run, 1 brought $150 and the other brought $175. The next auction they have we are going to load it up and take it down there and let it go if it will bring close to what those brought. They also had a craftsman 3 hp 60gal that was at least 5 years old that brought $475 plus 10% buyers premium and sales tax, that idiot could have bought a brand new one for that

Re: 72 2wd Blazer: Project "Break Me"
Me and my father have been fitting the panels. We are going to try and acheive a 3/16" gap on all the panels. There are going to be a few filler rods added here and there and we have already added most of the one on the passenger side.
The bigges pain in the a$$ has been removing all that sound deadener that I put in after I first bought the blazer. That stuff isn't meant to be removed Here are a few pics, we still have a ton of welding and grinding to do. Last edited by jkade; 01-11-2009 at 10:54 AM. |

Re: 72 2wd Blazer: Project "Break Me"
Thanx!! It better be nice considering the time and money that is being thrown in it THe biggest project right now is fitting all the gaps, I see folks on here all the time that don't take the time to make all their gaps consistant and that makes a huge difference in the end result in my opinion.
I was checking out your thread and your blazer is coming along nicely That is going to be sweet when you get done |

This came out of the same red neck garage that mine is being built in so maybe it will be as nice. Corvette purist need not reply Buckaroo shot these back in the summer but it hasn't hit a mag yet.

Re: 72 2wd Blazer: Project "Break Me"
That is so sweeet. Can you or your Dad give a few specs on the rear set up. C5 style but what is the diff from, C4 or? Also are the spindles C5? Then are the half shafts stock pieces or were they made by?
How's the little one doing, Taylor goes in Friday for his 1 yr and a half check up. It goes by fast. Kevin LFD Inc. |

Re: 72 2wd Blazer: Project "Break Me"
Thanks for the comments on the Vette!!!!!!!!!,, The custom half shafts were made by the Driveshaft Shop,, Salisbury ,NC.,, They are made from 300 moly, if I spelled it right ??The rear is narrowed to 52",,They also built the drive shaft,, The front end is a Morrison 54" cross member kit, with power rack, aluminum hubs ,etc,,,You can see more pictures on Lateral-g... Thanks for generous comments!!!

Re: 72 2wd Blazer: Project "Break Me"
It pulls air through the cowl and how many ls motors have you seen with the intake backwards, that is the only advantage. I guess our family just likes to be different, and I guess that is why we do crazy things like him molesting a factory air car that was #'s matching minus the water pump and me taking a factory 2wd blazer and making a truck out of it
