Thank you, take your time and do your research and anyone can do this. I'm 21 and this was my first time doing all the work myself. Of course I couldn't have done it without help from members of this board, especially Bobbo for his help with the engine. And it turns out Bobbo that my heater core does leak. That sucks. |

Re: '67 Short Step #2
Well it's about 1:00 am and I just got done with the pinstripe. It looks great and really sets the paint off. I got all the glass installed and we ran the engine for about five minutes. The engine is sounding great and is super responsive. I think it will really surprise some people.
Thanks Bobbo! The plan is to get the exhaust done on Thursday, work out a few bugs, finish assembly, and then cruise it to Kansas City on Saturday morning. |

Re: '67 Short Step #2
I got more parts installed today. Here's what it looks like with the pinstripe. The front looks weird in the picture and I had to go out to my gargage to make sure it hadn't moved on me. It's just the angle or something though. I even took a video of the engine running with open headers. I bet you'd like to see that but I don't know how to post videos.
I'm really happy with how well the paint turned out, especially considering this was my first time painting, it was done in my garage, and with a $100 spray gun. I still need to cut and polish it but unless you're right up on it, the paint looks perfect. Maybe this can be some motivation for some of you out there. I built this truck for under $7000. Re: '67 Short Step #2
If that's not motivation, then I don't know what is....
Beautiful work Kyle! By the way when you cruise to KC on Saturday, are you heading to any shows? I'm running up to KS to pick up my '72 doors, and then I'm going to try and stop by Doug's. Might run into you there...

Looks good man. You really pulled off a nice truck on what most would consider a small budget. Don't park it in the garage

Re: '67 Short Step #2
Kyull, buddy, whoa! That turned out real nice bud. I'm glad you kept the bed color. Have you revealed your interior plans yet? 2 tone seat and door panels to match?
When I get time I'm gonna have to read this whole thread all over again. Congrats. Oh and I found the attachment bolt for my factory in bed tire mount. I think I posted a pic of the mount for you a while back. It's nothing more than a large carriage bolt and a nut and large washer. The square carriage head slides down in the slot and does not turn.

Ask and you shall recieve. Keep in mind that it wasn't tuned yet and I'm trying to break it in somewhat gently. Enjoy the video.
